    Shuttle PC

So basically i am looking at a ibtx mobo and a case with a brand name on it? If that's the deal, are there any other micro case brands around that i might be able to purchase instead?

    Cinematic MOD 10

http://www.3fl.net.au/downloads/index.php?dlid=3218 It has the 10.2 patch in the downloads -
  4. Hi, At the moment i am transferring up to 150GB a month on my website due to 3 or 4 files. What i would like to do is enable a PHP script to download from a random site on a list of mirrors, 98% of the downloads are made from a link at http://www.zhlt.info and i DO NOT have access to that site to enable the script there, it needs to be enabled from the file name - example; A user clicks http://downloads.ammahls.com/zhlt/zhlt34x86final.zip, i would like that link to run a script that his a list of mirrors that the user will download from http://example.com/zhlt34x86final.zip http://example.org/zhlt34x86final.zip http://downloads.ammahls.com/zhlt/zhlt34x86final.zip http://directlinkdownloads.url/zhlt34x86final.zip How would i go about it? Or do you have an example i might be able to use?
  5. Have you had web dev experience with this? I suspect that my site also has perl, as its got a CGI-BIN folder.
  6. Fail as well My computer just sucks, time to get a 1TB external, and a laptop - in the mean time, i am running on the integrated video until i can afford to upgrade.
  7. Hi, My 7900GS has failed on me, hard locking on desktop, inbuilt video works fine. I am wondering what the best last gen mid range card would be (and could i still find them for sale) Otherwise i am happy to get a budget card that is same, or better to a 7900GS Only thing i want is an nvidia System Pentuim D 3.4Ghz o/c to 3.9Ghz 2GB DDR2 @ 400Mhz bus (Mobo only eats 400Mhz RAM) 500W 'branded' power supply (cant think of the brand ATM) 2x SATA HDD 2x PATA HDD 2X DVD Burners (Dont get used at the moment due to where the case sits) I have a golden orb HSF, so the overall length should not excead a normal 'AGP' card length Thanks,
  8. No the only extra thing it has is a SPIDIF connector for the HDMI I exchanged the board for a Gigabyte 9800GT 512MB, i'll see if this works as it HAS the 6 pin connector.
  9. I'm going to take it back to the retailer, and get something else - i suspect that my mobo is not supplying enough watts to on the BUS for it to start up properly.

    Can't Alt Tab

Your USB port could be dead, they do pass away with no warning.
  11. Its the 'green edition' - on the board it has the pin out marked on it for PCI-E power, but it has no pins.
  12. I'm not sure if this would have any effect like plugging a AGP8x card into an AGP 4x slot, but my mobo manual says it has a PCIe-16 1.0a, the card says it works with 2.0 - is this going to be an issue? And yes its the 1GB model.
  13. Ok, so i got a Gainward 9800GT I unpacked it, pluged it into my cool master 475W PSU, and the computer wont boot up It wont even BIOS beep with 4x HDD, 2x DVD, 1x floppy, and 2x case fans un-pluged It has NO external power, so is it being completely powered from the BUS? I have a P4M890T-M2 (ECS Mother Board), so is my mobos BUS under powered, or is my PSU not powerful enough? I have a netgear wireless N adapter plugged into the PCI expansion slot, and all the rest is on board. http://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=107
  14. Ah well time to install HOSTS or add block http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
  15. THanks, I'll have a hunt around for a 9600GS - i'm only playing Left 4 Dead 2, and once in a while the latest single player version of Crysis, or CoD, or Bio Shock etc.
  16. Sorry to confuse you, its a PCI-E, but i know that some of the newer cards are rather long.
  17. I have a friend in the 'corner shop' pc retail business, he performs out of warranty upgrades (mods) for lap tops. to perform the job you need to have on the job experience / experience with messing around home brew lap top mods. Contact PC Master castle hill for full info, as i only know what he dose, not how he dose it.
  18. That is normally part of anti-vrius 20xx (replace x with year number) - its ransom ware I would recommend that you run http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php in safe mode as well - it should clear out any left over bits.

    Fan set-up

If your going to be running them in serial your going to be cutting your 12v rail to 6v, and the fans may have trouble spinning up, and will also only reach 1/2 of there maximum RPM. I/o normally has lots of stuff relating to this head over to dans data if you CBA reading over back copys. http://www.dansdata.com/io001.htm - full list on the right hand side

  21. I'm not after performance, just looking to see if its possible So far, i have combined these keys and everything is working ok; NetworkService LocalService into netsvcs Before i did this, 6x svchost was taking 54.136 Now i got 3x svchost taking 32.36 Trial and error - I stuck everything into the one process, and windows would load, but explorer would not (and no net access either) If your going to do this, do not touch dcom, rpcss or termsvc - also back up the key before you start
  22. Looking at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314056, it seems to be that i might be able to combine all my svchost processes to the same instance, however, will it work? I am the only person that uses the computer, the computer is set to login with no user prompt, and my user account is Administrator access level. At the moment, i have 6 instances of svchost, taking around 50MB of memory - i want less instances, and hopefully overall, less memory use. tasklist /svc Image Name PID Services ========================= ====== ============================================= svchost.exe 672 DcomLaunch, TermService svchost.exe 720 RpcSs svchost.exe 796 AudioSrv, Browser, CryptSvc, Dhcp, dmserver, EventSystem, FastUserSwitchingCompatibility, helpsvc, lanmanserver, lanmanworkstation, Messenger, Netman, Nla, NtmsSvc, Schedule, seclogon, SENS, SharedAccess, ShellHWDetection, Themes, TrkWks, W32Time, winmgmt, Wmi, wscsvc, wuauserv, WZCSVC svchost.exe 868 Dnscache svchost.exe 892 LmHosts, RemoteRegistry svchost.exe 1684 WebClient http://i50.tinypic.com/2po5y8m.gif - task manger http://i46.tinypic.com/vyb6ur.gif - registry key

    Service control

http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html It closes running services, and processes in 2-3 clicks, takes 7MB of memory, for me it frees up around 50-70MB on my machine that only uses 26 processes in total.
