  1. That's rather good - what street are you on?
  2. I have installed a SSL mod for Firefox 3.5 that makes every site use HTTPS - it seems to be that the Atomic has an invalid cert - whats going on? https://www.atomicmpc.com.au This Connection is Untrusted You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.atomicmpc.com.au, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified. What Should I Do? If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue. Technical Details www.atomicmpc.com.au uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for www.financeasia.com (Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)

    Invalid SSL cert for AtomicMPC.com.au

Even though there is no 'need' for SSL, i think some power user's would be happy to use a SSL connection if it was presented to them It like you connect to google, and the ssl cert is only for gmail...

Trying to make sense of some given code.

All you have been given is the data type of those functions - you wold have to build your function works with those data types to read a text file - and then expand onto an email (which is a complex type of text file, that would need a filter function).

    Microsoft anti virus now out.

I'm very happy, uses less resources then my last AV (free-av.de), and seems to not even slow the system down on a full test.
  8. At work (Inside Telstra Exchange) Un-Patched Windows 7 on ADSL 2+ (adsl 1 modem) - 20M directly above the MDF exchange (pitt street switching room) At home, Hornsby Exchange
  9. I have a netgear voip modem from iiNet, that uses a 1KG, 12v 1amp wall wart, it is so big that it wont stay pluged into my double addapter for my cordless phone, i have been looking around for a smaller, compact one, that weighs much less. I have had a look at jcar http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=MP3130 is there any other options? I brought a cheap device that came with a compact 12V 1amp wall wart about 10 months ago, but this seems to be not feeding enough or the correct power to the modem, as it wont light up.
  10. I would rather get a light weight one, as i have a 6 month old that's starting to find anything that fits in your mouth taste good, even if you have to unplug it.

    Brandnew Asus eeePC

I am after a direct cheap laptop, and my local JB Hi-fi has a first gen EEE PC for $200 ASUS Eee PC 900 Celeron M 900 MHz 8 GB SSD 512 MB of RAM Linux What i want to do, is install Windows 98, with Office 2000 so that my wife can do her study - she needs to use the internet, and i have been told that this model has Wireless G - how much should i offer them in a return bargain?

    HDD Disappearing act

    1) Run a few chkdsk /f on it - if it returns MANY errors, JB has TB external dives for $147 at the moment, purchase one, rip the shell off, and stick it as a replacement. 2) Cheaper - check that all the cords are plugged in correctly & your PSU is NOT faulty

    Weird ADSL Attenuation

Most ADSL Pair gain systems (Alcatel CMUX, NEC AM35, etc) have auto Attenuation enabled at the exchange - dont go an hard configer any values in your modem.

Atomic. Can you buy it in the UK?

If your planing on staying in the UK for a long time, some importers may have a deal with Haymarket in the UK, ask the news agent for an import - it will take longer, and cost a bit more, but you can still get it. I import 'game developer' from the US & pay around 30 bucks an issue.

    Brandnew Asus eeePC

Shes just getting use to Office 2000 - i would use Open Office, but she will get VERY Lost Master_Scythe Would the 900Mhz processor be to slow for Win 7?
  21. Yeah they cost 5-10 bucks at the local chemist / watch replacement place - i have experienced both the PC wont turn on & the PC keeps rebooting - if its not the bat - then at least you will have one in your spare parts bucket.
  22. Grab a copy of the latest mag - it has a overall good build for a HTPC, though i personal prefer shuttle cases instead of towers if i was to go for a HTPC.
  23. I suspect it may be the BIOS battery - consider replacing it? The 400Mhz range looks like an AMD 3200 http://cgi.ebay.com/ATI-mATX-Motherboard-A...id=p3286.c0.m14
