  1. The Thor impersonator was Vanna. Didn't get a pic of Reaper for some reason. Chaos and Fenn looking after the cake. Not many photos were taken that I noticed. Everyone was just having a good time, didn't seem to need to take the pics. Do wish I'd taken more photos in hindsight, but nothing to stress about. And gifts! I don't know if anybody expected gifts but our fantabulous hosts did not disappoint. Drinking mugs, mouse that went to 3 people before it found somebody that wanted it, PC games, headphones, cake.... Actually, by the end of the night, you could just call everyone Virul. I think we all had a turn of wearing Virul's name tag by then.
  2. And there was cake Atomic checkered cake If your name was not on the canvas at the time of the photo, you were either late to the party or you're a Ben.
  3. You make no sense. Calm down. You're hysterical. Beer will fix it. I was expecting to have a good night. That far exceeded my expectations. Thank you everybody for being a cool person to hang out with. Very well done Chaos.

Oh, I always loved the ST-I. Mate hates it and every time I play it with him I have a shit game and prove him right. Grrr.

Can you imagine how long you'll be waiting for a game to start outside of these hours?

But if our connection is good, what do we blame our rubbish gaming abilities on?

    Ping

I was thinking that as I was writing the OP, but then I had fear of being labelled a 'back groper' and that's fun for nobody.

    Ping

Sharing my limited education. H:\>ping -n 2 8.8.8.8 Pinging 8.8.8.8 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=11ms TTL=50 Reply from 8.8.8.8: bytes=32 time=4ms TTL=50 Ping statistics for 8.8.8.8: Packets: Sent = 2, Received = 2, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 4ms, Maximum = 11ms, Average = 7ms Think of a submarine sending out a sonar 'ping' and then that sound wave hits something hard and shiny that bounces back the sound to the sub so the sub can identify that something is there based on that reply. That is literally what I always thought the origins were for the networking 'Ping' command. Made sense to me, you send out a targetted ping and if it's reachable, you get a reply. Apparently, according to this brain-numbing course I'm doing, 'PInG' is actually an acronym. "Packet Internet Groper". Awesome name from 20th century geeks. Turns out I've been 'groping' for years without realising it. Let's hope HR never find out or a quarter of I.T. everywhere will be having difficult conversations. Opy the Groper
  10. Was hoping to have my PC built by the next Upgrade Australia. Didn't think Sydney was getting one this year but just found out it is on in a month. I think I'm too busy with other things to get it done in time now. But I'm not sure if they are doing the whole bring in your own PC to test it's OC ability this time 'round anyway. So much on that weekend, but I think I'll make it anyway. Aerial UTS Function Centre – University of Technology Sydney Friday 22nd September 5:30 – 9:30 Totally free register here: www.pcauthority.com.au/UpgradeAustralia/

What was the first game you ever played?

Star Trek on a Dick Smith System 80. Monochrome green screen FTW !

My mate, major_disaster, had a game in his O-I yesterday. After the game, somebody he killed was affronted enough to send him a message to call him a "Poo head". Man, the abuse in this game is just getting out of hand. ROFL

It has been a long time since I've done this. But here is a good game to watch in fast forward. Almost Benny Hill like with the constant "load" "load" going on :) http://users.datarealm.com/opy/WoT/20170317_1751_germany-G35_B-1bis_captured_05_prohorovka.wotreplay Look at all those pretties !

I'm thinking more along the lines of needing an executive's corporate card to drive the thing. It'll likely cost me 25k creds a game to play.

So after 79 years of playing, I finally got around to splurging out some creds and getting myself a Maus. I wonder if I'll ever use the thing.
