  1. I like how personal experience is automatically bias... as opposed to some people on here who are just armchair experts.

    Trolling and the internet.

Charlotte Dawson says charming things like: "New Zealand is small, nasty and vindictive. It's a tiny, little village ... a tiny country at the end of the earth," So I really don't care if internet trolls make her cry, some people bring this shit on themselves.
  3. Yep, take the riot as a warning. You let Islamic fundie groups grow and there will be problems. Australian citizenship is obviously too easy to obtain and keep.

U.S Ambassador killed by angry Libyan mob

Sydney has people walking around with signs saying "Behead those that insult Islam" (or something to that line). Good to see we have these well adjusted fellows in our country as well.

U.S Ambassador killed by angry Libyan mob

Surprise, surprise. Gaddafi is gone so other thugs are causing trouble in the country. News programs making the rebels sound like noble freedom fighters was always good for a laugh, a large proportion of them also had messed up political/religious views.

    Vote Liberal

Enjoy your NBN after Labor slaps a big flawed Internet Filter onto it.... (which is what they will most certainly do once they can get a majority) I'd rather stick with ADSL2 to be honest....

    Come hither..

Regardless, my policy is not to own an animal that can gain the upper hand in strength and kill me. (goes for any dog) Crazy I know!

    Come hither..

Pitbulls are bred to fight and kill. I've known a few pitbulls and while they can be nice animals, there is always a very strong attack instinct that can be triggered. The pitbull owners that I know have always had special rules about what not to do around the animals etc (often rules that you don't see other dog owners expressing). Can't say that I like most dogs but these ones should certainly go imo.
  9. Well, I feel somewhat better about never owning an Apple product. Fuck em.

    Assange granted Ecuadorean Asylum

Just curious, this may have already been answered. Why does the media claim that once sent to Sweden he might run the risk of being sent to the USA? You would think that the USA could just as easily reach Assange in the UK. Anyway, I'm surprised that Assange is still around... I always thought he would have an accident like a "car crash" or something. Assange has annoyed a lot of people out there.

    Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean

Yeah, my nexus s still hasn't updated. Gave up on dealing with Vodafone (useless) and decided to flash with no problems. Whirlpool has a handy thread for Nexus S owners: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-repli...592360&p=53

    Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean

I'm assuming that doesn't include Vodafone. D: I purchased my Nexus S through Vodafone but it is completely unlocked meaning that I run a Telstra sim in it.
  13. Eh, nuts have found ways to go on mass killings without guns... doubt a ban would change much. Just look to China, mass killings in schools with knives since they have limited access to guns. My problem with the "gun control camp" is that many think just banning guns will fix the problem when really the root of the problem won't be addressed,

    Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean

Nexus S has been delayed due to it not meeting Australian regulatory requirments surrounding emergency calls. No ETA from Vodafone either yet.

    Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean

That's the whole point of owning a Nexus (or Nexus S, or Galaxy Nexus). yeah.. i want to know why those phones are first? as mentioned the pure google phones don't have to wait for carriers etc to modify the updates with crapware.

DayZ: An ARMA II zombie survival mod

My first decent game occured... I spawned on the coast and luckily found a makarov in a nearby cabin. Upon investigating an industrial area I was picking up heaps of loot only to bump into a stranger about ten feet away. The stranger opened fire with a rifle first but I got lucky and head shotted them with the makarov... later I went towards an airfield but was killed directly outside by some guy with an assault rifle. Question: Does anyone else find the controls to be sluggish / laggy? I find aiming to be a bit difficult due to things not feeling smooth when aiming. Any thoughts? T

    Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean

I'm most interested in Google Now (on my Nexus S). Personally, I've never felt the user interface to be slow or laggy enough to annoy me. I even run a live wallpaper that cycles through all my gallery photos displaying them as fancy polaroid stacks. (App is called photowall if anyone is interested *no I don't work for them :P*)

DayZ: An ARMA II zombie survival mod

I found a pistol and shotgun.... Next thing I know, Zombies Everywhere! Ran into a forest and killed them (using all my damn ammo), now lost with no food or water D:

DayZ: An ARMA II zombie survival mod

Recently purchased Arma 2 and have been enjoying DayZ... my only gripes are: 1. Starting with no means to defend yourself sucks... especially when the zombies are an absolute pain to lose. I found myself often restarting rather than trying to lose a zombie that I accidently set off before finding guns. 2. Where the heck are the guns? I've been walking in-land checking all the buildings but barely find anything.

    Android n00b needs a tablet

Yep, can't say it has found anything but it eats almost no resources and is there just in case. Don't see the problem really.

Swype is also a great free keboard: http://www.swype.com/ Currently, Swype is in beta but I have had no problems at all. My recommended apps are: Firefox Dropbox Flipboard (much nicer than Google currents imo) Photowall (makes a nice background from your photos, not very battery intensive either) Astrid tasks (handy for jotting down quick notes/reminders rather than on paper) AVG Antivirus Free Android Lost (handy app for finding lost phones/tablets)

    R18+ successfully passed through Parliament

Pretty sure the proposed R18+ rating still doesn't allow video games to have drugs as rewards actually. The OFLC hasn't been consistant with applying ratings for video games in the past (there are plenty of examples). If the new R18+ rating isn't watered down rubbish (which it probably will be), the OFLC can still bend games into the RC category without following set precedents. We will probably get some more games but I'd bet that we will still have bad bans as well. Sounds great? well yeah maybe, but don't expect anymore progress for a long time.

    R18+ successfully passed through Parliament

Also as sm1ddy points out. This R18+ rating might not actually be as good as you are all thinking it will be. True but it is an important step into getting SOMEWHERE in line with the world. Honestly, MA15+ is a bit of a joke to have really given how many games that are technically R18+ gets squeezed here. No, not really. Governments passing half-arsed legislation that can fool much of the population into thinking things have been fixed means any real future progress will be undermined.
