  1. Need more info. But maybe the easiest way is to either reinstall windows using a backup, or download the Ubuntu live CD and dual boot with that. Ubuntu is one of the smarter ones, so it should be able to do everything for you.

    How do you do it?

How do you survive working in an office day in, day out, everyday until you're 65? I've been doing it for 10, and have another 35 years left, going crazy. How do people not go crazy?

    Is anyone developing games?

Hi guys, I've dabbled around a bit in game development in the past, but have found some of the guides and documentation less than ideal. Before I was using Löve2d, but the tutorials are lacking a bit. So, do you develop games? What tools do you use? Do you prefer to use a full featured prebuilt engine like unitiy or unreal, or do you prefer something simple? I'm just curious to see what others are using. Nick

    What's on your mind?

I can't wondering when does all this end. Also if there's something wrong with me, or if I just work with idiots. Probably me, but I don't know why or what it is about me.

    Worries about loosing your job?

Is it just me or do other people worry about loosing their jobs? I'm almost 30 now, and I've been working in 'real' jobs (engineer) since about 2006-ish. Pretty much since the GFC the economy all around the world hasn't ben so great. Businesses are always going up and down and I'm always worried about loosing my job. It'd be nice to have just one comfortable position I could retire into.

    Boring or Normal :P

29, married, none yet but trying for kids. Yep boring. But I think it's just because I think I've done almost everything I set out to do in life. Theres's no 'next thing' I need to do. Will keep on searching.

    What's on your mind?

Maybe it's just the malaria tablets talking, but I'm thinking about changing jobs. I like the location and pay and in general the company, but since my old boss left, my new boss has been giving me work way under my skill range. I also think 80% of the managers are terrible at their jobs. But it's bad timing with just finding out my wife is pregnant (which we're both very happy about).

    Ubuntu 2010 Dual Boot

It'll be a versioning problem with your specific hardware. Many other people, myself included, have used ubuntu (and other distros) on their macbooks. I'm doing right now on my macbook air. If a different release of Ubuntu doesn't work, try another distribution. I'm on Fedora at the moment and it works well with everything. Also you could see if there's any firmware updates for your macbook.

    Anyone Using Strava?

what the hell is with this 'reputaion' crap? And why did I get a -1? I've only been a member of these forums for like 10 years so maybe it's still a hazing thing. I've been living overseas for a bit over a year now and still don't have any friends, so I guess I was trying to reach out a little online.

    Anyone Using Strava?

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone else uses strava. I'm into bicycles and running and just seeing who else might have the same interests and stuff :) edit: and also I'm thinking maybe we could create an atomic group on strava
  12. I'm almost 30 and pretty over all the stress. I'm an engineer and have worked mainly in the mining industry my entire professional career. So in about 8 years of working, I've gone through 3 mining industry down-turns, leaving me fearing for my job. The past year I've been making some big changes to my financial status, so now my wife and I have no debts and a nice nest egg of money. But I'm still over having to be concerned for my job constantly. Changing industry sectors won't help much, the worlds economy isn't doing very well. And changing jobs is also hard, plus finding the right one is even harder. I've been thinking how I could do a mathematics degree and work in some research capability, but to even do that costs thousands and thousands of dollars. Too much for me. The older I get, the more and more I realise how much the modern world is set up to make us slaves to money. I'd be very happy to buy a small plot of land somewhere and grow enough food to feed my family, and to live on relatively low money. Meh, I guess this is more of a rant than anything else. Thanks for listening though

    Atomic Games Workshop Crew

Well I live in Switzerland (at least for the moment) and my German is still... improving, so it's hard finding people to play with, aka friends. I was kind of hoping I could just rock up to some store one time and play. Or maybe find people to play with on some forums. I also looked and saw that in Switzerland the price of Warhammer is similar to that in Australia, but Warmachine is roughly double. I like the look of bolt action! Also flames of war looks pretty cool. I like WWII sort of stuff edit: I guess there's also the possibility that I don't buy anything and just sit in the corner and admit I've got no friends here haha.

    What's on your mind?

I'm wondering if I'll loose my job when the management has their big meeting tomorrow :/ Gotta love the world economy at the moment. Nothing gold can stay
