    PC Troubles

So i ran the program for 6hours no problems. It settled down @ 105 degrees, didn't go any higher. I really didn't wanna do another re-install :( I'll give it a go with most of those programs you suggested. I have a thermaltake Armour all stock fans which is about 5 fans. So do you think if i lowered the heat and cleared up the pc a bit it should stop the constant locking up? Thanks heaps guys for the help so far! Joshua

How long and what setting should i test on. I just ran a test for about 5mins max on full screen, i stopped it when the temp was climbing over 100 degrees. The program itself looked fine.

    PC Troubles

Hello, I'm having troubles with my PC atm. When i start Windows it takes ages for everything to load up. I used to have two monitors plugged into my graphics card but had to take one out cos i thought it might have been too much for my card. Every thing was working fine until one day i went into wow and it just locked up then crashed my pc. For the next week i kept on getting the same problem, sometimes it would work, other times it wouldn't. A couple of times it locked up and recovered. Display driver errors. So i updated my card and i still got the same problems. Only now i can be watching a movie or surfing the web, opeing an application and my pc will just completely lock up. I have to give it a good 2-3mins before it will start to run smooth again. Sometimes it doesn't even get out of the lock and i have to restart. I have done a full re-install and even got a new hard drive and put windows 7 on it. I'm still getting the same problems. I spent a shit load of money on my graphics card and im really hoping its not the problem. Here are my specs Windows 7 (64bit) Intel Quad 9550 @2.83 4gig ram XfX GTX 295 (76degrees idle) I got 2 hard drives both 1gig, both holding less then half capacity Mainboard P5q Deluxe The cpu and mobo are the oldest parts of my pc If you need any more info please ask Thanks Joshua

    Problem With my PC

OK, so my good mate comes over, and we do a bit of testing. I get the green dots again like usual. We run more ram/cpu test, nothing wrong. So we swap cards. He has a Sapphire ATi card 4870x2. I put it in my system and it runs great, we played all night and today. Nothing happened...to my system. His on the other hand, though no green dots appeared, had glitching. Like shaps n shit appear in the screen. we ran vantage on his PC and if anyone knows that part with the flags, it was glitching like a mofo, not smooth @ all. So im thinking its my graphics card. I'm thinking i was really unlucky to get 2 dud high end graphics card, my Asus 4870x2 and my XfX 9800GX2. I'm gonna try putting my old XfX card back in, if the same shit happens, then i'll try sending em both back. Do you guys agree? Thanks Joshua

    Problem With my PC

i have actually moved my computer 2 my mates house and still had the same problem.

    Problem With my PC

Yes, im using both connectors, 8 and 6. remember, i had these problems with both graphics cards, so i don't think its the cards, my mate is coming around thursday n we r swapping PSU, as his is the only one with enough reccommened power.
  9. Wallnuthead1

    Problem With my PC

No, but that cable came with the graphics card. My PSU has a 6pin connector already so i don't need it.
  10. I have an 8pin adapter, but its 2-6pins to 8-pin. Its spare part, if u don't mind a little drive and its what you are after... I work @ the HJ's in Baldivis which is off the end of the Kwinnana Freeway. I got work from 8am-4pm, if ya interested lemme know. I'll check this b4 i goto work 2moz.

    Problem With my PC

Ok, so here is an update. I spent the weekend @ my mates place. I swapped Mobo's, Ram. I have run my computer bare, disconnecting cd drive and non-important hard drives. The only things i have kept same are my graphics card, CPU and power supply. Also swapped monitors, even bought a new pair on cables. This testing was done with a fresh install, fully updated with CCC 8.9. I go into CS:S and green dots are waiting for me. So i think we can rule out the mobo now. Its either gonna b the 3 things i didn't change, CPU, power supply or graphics card. The CPU is the oldest, almost a year old i think.... PSU was bought with my 9800GX2 which was only like a month or 2 ago. The Asus 4870 im running is barely 3weeks old i think. Any ideas now guys. Should i maybe jus shove it in the car and take it down to a PC shop and just pay sum1 to sort it out? Thanks Joshua

    Problem With my PC

If only i had the time. :( I will give it a go.

    Problem With my PC

When I got into a game, it glitches really bad, now i get like triangle shaps and everything. And sumtimes it just freezes and restarts, other times it just locks up and i have 2 reset it myself. Only got a BSOD twice. Both times it was a graphic error apparently.
  14. Wallnuthead1

    Problem With my PC

No. Im now getting like 2-3 stalls a day. Really annoying.
  15. Wallnuthead1

    Problem With my PC

I have just recently had the computer lock up, about 3 times now. Anyway. Im going to do a fresh install. I have tried different cables and monitors, so im stumped as 2 wat is really wrong. maybe i should just take it into a PC shop?
