Stupid students disobay legal police orders

So he was still inside the circle of protesters when he was spraying them?

Stupid students disobay legal police orders

    - They were allowed to continue protesting, the cops were leaving- They followed the cops who were leaving - They surrounded the cops to prevent them leaving - They ignored requests to allow the cops to leave - They demanded/requested a trade - the cops freedom for their friends freedom Following people, trapping them and saying you won't let them go without you giving them something is threatening. If they weren't allowing the police to leave, how was the guy with the pepper spray able to step over the line to spray them?

    Speaker Resigns

Here is the Link Google posting on latest And this too on the new speaker and what happened in parliament today Is this the way of things to come I'd thought as a result of the election that the Coalition had come to some agreement to not have a vote to make up for the one lost by the speaker being a Labor member. I suppose not...

...with Mathew Newton as adjudicator... :) What about Andrew Bolt? Is there any room for him in this fiasco?

I will say one thing, I don't think he's consciously sexist. I think this was more a personal attack on a journalist who had an opinion against him. It'd be interesting to see what his response might have been if it had been a male journalist though. He seems to think people are calling for his sacking because of this one issue, but it's not just because of this issue, there's been too many others. Sure he apologises after them, but you can't just keep running around acting the ultradouche, and then hope to get away with it every time by saying sorry. People are just gonna get sick of you and want you gone. I would disagree, real reporters have my admiration, this guy is a celebrity radio presenter who's got a big mouth and doesn't know when to shut it. He's not a journalist/reporter in any way. Unless you meant the reporter who he was slagging off...

You've summed up one of the biggest problems in politics so eloquently. Bravo

    Speaker Resigns

It seems Slipper has taken over for now at least. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-11-24/slip...dumping/3690528 Apparently he's up against a Howard government minister for pre-selection for his seat. The Liberals would be insane to remove him, people love him on the Sunshine Coast (at least, from what I remember of living there). Also, in regards to the claims of "communism" that's just ridiculous. The Labor party has been moving in the opposite direction for a long time, plus they've introduced some of the biggest reforms in Australia's history towards our current capitalist system.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-11-24/kyle...ts-back/3690568 So apparently he's tried to defend himself instead of apologise. Bad move. He reckons because we live in a country of free speech (which is only actually protected if it's political speech, guarantees of other forms of free speech don't exist) he can say what he likes. Well guess what honey, in a free country, the public also has the freedom to disagree with you. Sure, stand up and spout your vitriol all over the place, and watch everyone boo you off your soapbox.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-11-24/harr...signing/3690850 Of course Abbott wants to call an election because the speaker resigned, what else would he do? He's been the most negative, partisan, ineffectual opposition leader, acting against the interests of the country to further his own agenda. He's just been having one huge tantrum since he lost the last election. As far as I understand, at least in the case of the speaker position causing a hung parliament parties agree a 1 for 1 vote in regards to the speaker's position and inability to vote in parliament. So the speaker can't vote on legislation, but the opposition normally removes one of their own members from the vote for fairness. If that's been the case, and the Liberals haven't been using the fact that Labor won the government, and therefore had to provide the speaker, as a way to get an extra vote, then I don't see the issue. The deputy speaker, Peter Slipper, should take over as speaker, and Labor should have one less vote to make up for it. If the Liberals haven't been honouring the practice of taking out one of their own votes, then Abbott is just sore that the tables have turned on him. I'm also getting completely sick of him saying the Greens are the real government, because they'd have no power at all if the Liberals dropped their butthurt act and actually cooperated to some degree with Labor.

or not radio stations do this all the time, they pay the fines if any, and keep doing whatever they do. This is unfortunately true, which is why it's probably more important that they are losing some major sponsors.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/media/kyle...6-1226203616976 . .. ... So in the end he's really just a butthurt drama queen... Here's the original piece that Alison Stephenson wrote http://m.news.com.au/TVNews/pg/0/fi918133.htm And here's an interesting overview of the situation http://mumbrella.com.au/how-kyle-sandiland...y-twitter-66350 I don't suppose sharing some popcorn whilst watching his career go down in flames is so bad? For once something he's involved in might be entertaining...
  15. What kind of necromancy keeps Kyle Sandilands' career alive? Whatever it is, it seems that it's losing its power. I was horrified to see the advertising for some new show he was doing, with all the advertising making it clear it was about controversy (what else could it be about?) The last thing he needed was more "permission" to act like a scumbag. However, it seems that his penchant for controversy has finally started to pay off, his show was a ratings bomb and now Holden are dropping support for his radio show. About bloody time. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-11-23/hold...ir-rant/3689756
