    Problems with DNS (2008R2)

I have that in use on another machine. I got it working by changing the port to 3396 (maybe 3395 is in use by something else??) Tried to change it back to 3395 and it stops right away. Strange..

    Problems with DNS (2008R2)

Sorry found a typo that was stopping it. I am still having issues with RDP though. I can't even connect to this machine internally. I have checked and RDP is enabled, Firewall is disabled. I have a custom port enabled 3395. I have tried to connect through telnet from the other server but no go.. Cant think of anything else that would stop it.

    Problems with DNS (2008R2)

I am setting up a test envro at home to do my MCITP on but am having issues with DNS. I have installed the trial of 2008 R2 in VMware and installed the roles for domain\DHCP\DNS. I have turned DHCP off in my router but can only connect my machines to the net if i enter in TPG's dns server address. I have enabled root hints. Any ideas?

    Endpoint Protection 12

Never mind the client just got me remote access.
  6. Can anyone tell me if symantec endpoint protection 12.0 requires the client installed on the server as well? I haven't had to use it before but it looks like it is not running any kind of on access protection.

    Help with screen resoultion

Yes, but only seems to install into windows.. stoopid hyper v.. Being a Microsoft product, are you surprised? No, not really. I will put VM ware on it later, but for now am doing my mcitp and thought it better to use hyper V for the time being..

    Help with screen resoultion

Right... so a virtual machine... skip the middle man and just use XDMCP then. Pretty sure it'll outperform anything RDP can do given all RDP sees in this case is a fairly plain framebuffer. It doesn't give you the choice because the VM tells Ubuntu complete bunkum about the actual size of the display. It is being told by the emulated video card that the screen is a 4:3 aspect ratio, and clearly this isn't the case. My suggestion would be to not bother setting up the display resolution... use it if you have to in order to troubleshoot problems. Once the VM is on the network, you should be able to connect to it remotely and access a desktop over the network. A quick search suggests there is an RDP server available in Ubuntu repositories: http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/xrdp david@laptop:~$ apt-cache search xrdp xrdp - Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) server Should be installable by typing: sudo apt-get install xrdp. So I have followed you steps but now have the same issue inside of a RDP window. The console of the Virtual machine run's in full screen but with the scrolling issue. Windows RDP connects just fine and this is what I was after but there is no way to make it full screen, and even if I stretch the window out to fill my desktop I am missing the bottom. This is my first run on linux so excuse me if I have no idea what I am talking about but can I just install another driver inside the vm that will give me the option that I am after. or this is most likely impossible, but is there a way to overwrite the given options with a manual one?

    Help with screen resoultion

Monitors does not have my resolution in there, I need 1280x800 and it only has options below. 800x600 1024x768 1152x864 Hyper v is a windows vertulising software.
  12. I have just installed Ubuntu 11.04 on my hyper v box and am planning on running it through rdp on my laptop. My issue at the moment is that the screen resoultion is off and I have to scroll to see the bottom of the screen. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the resoultion? I was hopeing that if I ran it through RDP I could run it full screen and have it fit accordingly.

    Beats By Dre

I picked up 2 pairs international, one for $350 these will come end of the week, and one for $400 with express delivery... I like them, they did turn out to be a bit more plastic then i thought in the shop, as you get an annoying plastic on plastic sound when walking... Over all though I think they are OK for $300, but wish that the shipping wasn't so much as it seems to raise the price to barely acceptable for this unit. My biggest problem is remembering to turn it off, they should know when they are unplugged and disconnect the batteries but they don't so have gone through a set of batteries in less than a week with minimal usage. However I am really just palling on using these on the plain so for me that is acceptable...

I just found out that they are $300 on the US apple store, but $500 on the AU store. so I guess that site\price should be fine. lol, I have a brother in Canada so thought i would check the apple store there and they are $350.. wish they would just pick a price already..

    Beats By Dre

Just about everything.. I like these cause they are the most comfortable I have tried on.. bit expencive but I found the sound fairly good. In the shop I heard a bit of Nirvana some pop song and a bit of Dre, they all sounded ok to me. I am not an audiophile but I was after something with the anti background noise thing as i will be using these on a plain the most.. and some that go over the ear as i find the on ear ones annoying.. I was looking at the QuietComfort 15 but they are $200 more. Way out of my league..
