  1. Hi. I know keyboards aren't exactly of great importance to many people, but I am after a specific kind... and I can't find one anywhere. I'm looking for a keyboard that isn't shit, uses low-profile scissor switch rubber dome keys, that also has anti-ghosting... and isn't overloaded with useless garbage I don't need... like macro keys. It must also have a decent backlight that's not some retarded colour. For the uninformed/ignorant; this is the type of key I am after. I'm currently using the "Logitech Illuminated Keyboard". (Reference: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...roducts_id=8456 ) It has everything I want, EXCEPT proper anti-ghosting. I'm tired of playing games like the ARMA series where at times you need to press a number of keys on the main board, as well as the keypad all at the same time... and it just doesn't work. That, coupled with my S key only working 3/4 of the time I press it... really, really irritates me. Also, wireless is totally out of the question. Any suggestions?

I know not a great deal of us here enjoy sim games, but for those of us that do... Scheduled for a winter (assuming that's our summer?) 2012 release, ARMA III -- while a while off yet, is keeping the series a PC exclusive. Bohemia promise ArmA will deliver a "unique sandbox-style combat gameplay experience in the most detailed environment of the series to-date". Sent behind enemy lines with a small group of Special Forces and Researchers to a Mediterranean Island, players assume the role of Cpt. Scott Miller. Naturally, the mission becomes compromised and the task force destroyed, leaving Miller to go it alone and "face the dangers of modern warfare, an unforgiving environment, and the consequences of his own decisions". Bohemia have divulged the following features:
  3. So, since the other thread is full of complaining about the game's development timeframe and end result ratio, and also laden with Forza3/GT5 comparisons I thought I'd make this thread for those of us who are actuallly enjoying our time with the game. Also so we can show off our rides and photography! For the uninterested, please keep your garbage in the other thread, and keep this one clean. Also, for those interested in some online paint-trading (racing), post your PSN usernames and feel free to add anybody who has posted their own for some (hopefully) reasonably clean racing. Anyway, I will kick this off with a photo I took of my Ferrari 458 Italia! Pictures can be viewed at full size by clicking the thumbnail, then clicking the smaller image on the next page to view it all its glory. === Known Atomican GT5 PSN ID list === Reb1rth. Battlefield 3 Alpha Beta

Wait, so by your logic witcher... you have to be either a CoD player, or a "casual" player to know that Medal of Honor is a steaming pile of rubbish? GG. I will probably wait for the open beta. I don't want MoH anywhere near my house, let alone inside my house or worse -- tied to my Steam account. Regardless of BF3 closed beta access.

    Battlefield 3 Alpha Beta

How can something be an alpha beta? <- Confused.

    [ALL] Driver: San Francisco

Yeah, played the shit out of all the Driver games, and this one looks fun. Bought it on Steam the other day. :)

    Are FPS games going backwards?

I don't think there's a great deal that can be done to expand upon the core gameplay (this also applies to most genres). What devs should be focusing on, more than anything, is a well paced, well thought out design and overall, a balanced (action/story/puzzle solving/whatever else) game. HL2 is a great example of this, I think. Not to say that HL2 is the perfect model for other developers to mimick, or copy... but taking notes would be welcomed. While the Call of Duty games for example have indeed found great success, the gameplay is copy/paste, and all they really do is try and out-do the previous game in terms of action scenes and overall intensity. This is all well and good for a couple games in succession, but then developers should be trying to find ways to expand upon the game's variety a little, which would also result in an increase in length, as you'd be doing more than just shooting your way through scripted action sequences. I enjoy FPS, it's probably my most played genre... though my interest is lacking lately due to all the overly generic FPS games popping up. Many of them look kinda cool, or interesting... until you play it for yourself. I hope Battlefield 3 is the game to rectify this.
  8. I think I've only seen Operation Metro on Rush... with a handful of players. And Rush sucks. That map would be complete chaos with 64 people running around on it.

    Bad Company 2

I played standard in the beta. Then a couple weeks in (from memory), hardcore servers started popping up. Started playing hardcore, haven't looked back. Accidentally joined non-HC servers before the server browser actually worked properly (you'd think after developing so many online games, DICE would at least have a working server browser on release). Tried playing anyway, hated it... went back to HC. I prefer the 'realism' (used loosely) of it over standard mode.

Sounds like you're playing standard mode. Standard mode is a bit of a joke.

AEK / T88 / UMP / M24 Those are my class weapons of choice. With occasional bouts of G3.
  12. My bet, is that we'll see similar (maybe a little less) performance to BC2... but there'll be DX11 eye-candy options that'll grab your GPU by the throat and start applying pressure. :p

That calculator would be better if it knew the prices you actually paid on each game so you knew what you spent. Either way, my 104 Steam games are sitting at $1389. It will be interesting to see Nav's result if he/she posts it.

I think some people need to realize that 'smashing' people in pub servers isn't exactly an achievement.

I like how you took Nuke's mockery of you two, and countered it with more of what he's mocking you guys about. Good job, bro.

What, your laptop can't load the Steam website... or what?
  18. Pandora Tomorrow has the 2v2 Versus mode.Chaos Theory has an improved 2v2 Versus mode. Double Agent has a dumbed down version but with 3v3. Chaos Theory is the best one, I should know... I've put over 1000 hours into CT Versus mode. :) My favorite PC multiplayer game ever, so unique, and it really relies on teamwork to win vs decent players. It's just a shame the Australian community was extremely small. Due to this, myself and my team mate were the best players in Australia. Then eventually all the locals stopped playing. :( Thanks to the disappointment that was Double Agent Versus mode, the 'vets' from Splinter Cell Versus are attempting to develop a UT3 mod (though I think it is standalone now, it just uses the UT3 engine) called Project Reality, which is supposed to emulate the gameplay found in Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory, with tweaks and gameplay/balance improvements. http://www.projectstealthgame.com/ No idea how long they've got 'til a playable version is released to the public though.
  19. Yeah they will. Got a link to back that up, y0?
  20. Pff, people will still cave and buy it anyway when they realize they're not going to get their way. The MW2 'boycott' was the same. Even if it doesn't end up on Steam in the end at all, I really can't see this being any different. If I am forced to, I'll do the Origin thing... although I don't want to. But I'm not going to let one program get in the way of my love for Battlefield. ;) I read something earlier about the possibility of it popping up on Steam anyway. Look at Alice: Madness Returns. Published by EA, wasn't on Steam at all until the day of release, and bam... there it is. Perhaps the same will happen for BF3. Any official word on whether retail copies will tie to an Origin account like some games do with Steam?

Do you have a 'go pack'?

    Nah I'm straight.

    Bad Company 2

Was playing fine last night, and have owned the game since before release... and all of a sudden, Steam is saying "Failed to contact key server" whenever I try to launch. I Googled around, and people say it's 'cause Steam haven't bought enough cd-keys to keep up with the demand of people purchasing it. It makes sense with the sales, but that shouldn't apply to me as I've owned it for like a year and a half or whatever. Annoying!

Best Sci-Fi flicks of the Noughties

Moon for sure, anybody that hasn't seen it should get on that shit ASAP.

So, I bought Splinter Cell: Conviction

It has only ever been laggy for me when one person's connection is either shit, or playing up.
