See this proves you never even tried it. they still use conventional projectiles albeit accelerated to super fast speeds. I dunno if it's just me, but it really, really seemed like he was being sarcastic. I dunno if it's just me but your posts never add anything to topics. Well, repair your sarcasm detection systems and I won't need to stray. :)

I snagged X3 Gold just before... should be interesting. Had a workmate that did nothing else with his free time but play X3. :P
  4. Housemate answered one of these calls about two weeks ago. He said to the guy, "We all use Macs"... and the dude hung up without even saying bye.

Bought a few games this sale so far... Back To The Future: The Game Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines Cities XL 2011 Universe Sandbox Haven't seen anything else worthy which I don't already own. Also, what kind of human being doesn't like the Back To The Future trilogy? Freak as.

Haha yeah, I know... gonna take it very easy on its maiden flight, and afterwards until I get used to how the chopper responds to my control movements. Hopefully I don't run into any major issues. :P EDIT: My tail rotor isn't working. :( Opened her up, checked the connections... all good. Don't know what's wrong with it. SADFACE.JPEG

    Fear 2

Holy overreaction, Batman! Regardless of multiplayer, anybody that doesn't download patches (which may result in an improved single player experience), or want to download them... is just crazy. Just let Steam do its thing, and come back to it later. If you 'needed the PC for other things', then this complaint is basically void -- as you wouldn't have been playing the game anyway. Also, downloading slowly (as implied) isn't going to affect anything else you could possibly do on your PC in such a way that it needs to be stopped. Your logic hurts my brain, sorry to say.

    Strange habbits

I think Witcher is just implying that there's no reason he should have waited until he got a GTX580 to be able to play Doom on 'full detail'. Which seems like what smakme was saying... though I can't tell if he's being sarcastic or not.

    F1 2011

No need for gameplay footage. Just go play 2010. I bet it's near identical... maybe some slight graphics and physics tweaks, but nothing overly noticeable without playing it yourself.

Crysis 2 DX11 patch now available

366.7mb downloaded on Steam. I guess that's just the patch, do we need to download and apply the DX11 and texture packs ourselves? Edit: Already answered... that's what I get for leaving the page open for ages before replying. :D

    Gaming of today.

Games are getting stale, as a whole... I think. But there are still gems to be found. Just like any form of entertainment, really.

    L.A. Noire

    With this game approacing release on May 20th, I thought I'd make a proper thread for it. L.A. Noire - I'm sure we all know of its existence, and what it is, but for those that don't... L.A. Noire is an upcoming video game developed by Team Bondi in conjunction with Rockstar Games, and published by Rockstar Games. As the title suggests, the game draws heavily from both plot and aesthetic elements of film noir - stylistic films from the 1940s and 1950s that shared similar visual styles and themes including crime, sex and moral ambiguity and were often shot in black and white with harsh, low-key lighting. The game uses a distinctive colouring-style in homage to the visual style of film noir. The post-war setting is the backdrop for plot elements that reference the detective films of the '40s, such as corruption and drugs, with a jazz soundtrack. The game takes place in post-war 1940s Los Angeles, a city of glamour, fame and wealth, but also where crime, vice corruption is rife. The player assumes the role of Cole Phelps, an LAPD officer who rises through the ranks of the department. He has joined the police force to "right the wrongs" he committed during the Second World War. He starts off as a patrol-man, then a traffic detective, homicide, vice, and finally arson investigator. Each rank gives the player a partner who will help Phelps in his investigations, fights, and arrests. The game blends investigative elements such as mystery, and crime solving, with fast paced action sequences from chases on foot to car, as well as gun-play. As well as the storyline missions, the player can choose to work on optional side-investigations following a call from dispatch. The player can also travel on foot, as well as in different vehicles. Initially announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive, the game was later reported to also be scheduled for release on the Xbox 360. The PS3 is the lead development platform, ovbiously, and will use a single blu-ray disc, while the 360 version will span across three DVDs. I have found this information regarding the disc-swapping, for those concerned 360 owners;

Zero issues here. i7 920@3.6, 6gb DDR3, HD6950 2gb. Guess I'm just awesome. Never had any issues with previous Codies games, either.

    PS3 Frame rate issue

I realize it's not a real Hz change, but it is marketed as 100Hz/200Hz, so I find it's best to name it that way so TV owners that don't know any different will probably know what I'm talking about.

Crysis 2 DX11 patch now available

Don't DX11 games on DX10 cards just enable the DX10 enabled features, but leaves out things like tesselation? Correct me if I'm wrong, s'just what I read somewhere.

    PS3 Frame rate issue

If you turn 100Hz off, the TV will default to 60Hz. The PS3 has no Hz setting, from memory.100Hz is bad 'cause it's not a real 100Hz. On TVs, it is 'faked' by inserting extra frames so the picture appears smoother. But often you will probably notice blurring or pixellation around moving objects, and it can create a kind of 'laggy' effect at times. The first thing I look at when turning on a new TV for the first time is the 100Hz option, so I can turn that rubbish off! :)

    PS3 Frame rate issue

I can say I've never seen fps-lag in GT5, but... I dunno... does your TV use 100Hz, 200Hz, etc? Make sure all that rubbish is turned off, along with the other options elfinke mentioned. Then get back to us with your findings. At the moment it's too hard to tell if it's the game, console, or TV that's causing your issues.

    Map of Metal

Really? like what? There are a fuckload of sub genres but the major ones seemed to be covered Well for one, industrial metal doesn't just stop at industrial metal... it expands further and meshes into sub-genres such as industrial black and industrial death.I wouldn't say it enitrely originated from thrash, either... but there are bands out there that started as a more thrashy band but went into the industrial thing later. Such as 'Red Harvest' -- who went from thrashy to a kind of cold, post-apocalyptic industrial black metal kind of sound. But anyway, if the creator included all the sub-genres it'd be a project they'd be working on for the rest of their life. So they are forgiven. :P
