Holy Crap! This is looking good!

Just watched the gameplay before coming here to post it and I was beaten to it! :P Looks quite amazing. $10 says they took some tips from Uncharted.
  2. Shame she doesn't know how to say pwned.

    Gymkhana is pretty fun. :)

    Deus Ex 3?

It'd be nice if the option to turn the cover system off and replace it with a lean function if preferred was there. Perhaps something to post on their forums about and hope the devs take notice. :)

Anybody up for some rally tonight at all? :)

    Deus Ex 3?

Fraps worked pretty well for myself... 60fps most of the time. Are you running the standard .exe, or the win7 one? I also find that recording with the settings, 60fps 'half-size' on Fraps is much smoother... it doesn't look AS nice as proper 1080p, but still decent.

    Deus Ex 3?

It doesn't. Xfire only works on supported games -- which doesn't include leaked betas. :P Your best bet is Fraps or Gamecam, throwing it into Windows Movie Maker or something more 'professional' and then upping to YouTube.

    Deus Ex 3?

I'd do it now but I'm lazy, about to eat, and want to play more instead of sitting around making and uploading videos before I go to bed... :P

    Deus Ex 3?

I agree with that, the hair can be pretty horrendous... it doesn't bother me much though. If the gameplay stays interesting and fun, I will completely disregard the graphical flaws. I'll try manually setting the aspect ratio to 16:9 and see how it affects the mouse movement, thanks for the tip.

    Deus Ex 3?

Had a little play earlier. Deus Ex is my favorite PC game, and has been since I played it in 2001. The good: Right from the get-go, the music, the sound of the characters voices... all made me feel somewhat nostalgic. The smooth look of the graphics and the colour palette reminds me more of Metal Gear Solid 4 than anything. But... Once I got augmented and got my HUD, I felt at home, so to speak. This was Deus Ex. Playing how you like, talking to people, getting information, searching bodies, moving them out of sight... it has the classic DX quickslots on the HUD. Easy to navigate menus, etc. The bad (to clarify, nothing game breaking -- just little things that bother me slightly): The shooting is a little more FPS styled, rather than skill-based like the first game (from what I can tell from my short play so far). The cover system works similarly to well, basically all games with a cover system. What you'd expect, really. Personally I am very tired of this whole 'cover' thing. Crysis 2 implemented a nice cover system while keeping the first-person viewpoint. It would have been nice to see something similar here, but Adam Jensen looks kinda cool so I don't mind seeing him from time to time. The mouse movement feels faster horizontally than it does vertically, and is a little too sensitive horizontally while being too unsensitive vertically, even on 3-4 bars (out of about 20 or something). I can't seem to find a good compromise yet, but I have barely fiddled. The anti-aliasing and some textures can look pretty bad. Otherwise it's pretty great!
  13. So, seeing as there's been no 'standard' Witcher 2 thread... I thought I'd make one. The Witcher 2 Facebook page posted the new cover art for the game 20 minutes ago. I'd say it's definitely an improvement over the previous! New (left), and old (right) covers; Personally, I prefer the new cover. Quite similar, but Geralt's new face is much improved. Anybody else pumped for this game? The first Witcher is probably my favorite 'RPG', up there next to Shining Force II on the Mega Drive, and FFVII on PSX. :o I'm dying to get my hands on this one. It looks quite amazing from what I've seen in the billion developer videos that're scattered around the interwebs. The hardware specs were released not long ago also, for those interested. Recommended specs: * Processor: Intel Quad Core or AMD equivalent * Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 260, 1 GB memory / Radeon HD 4850 with 1 GB memory * Memory: 3 GB for Windows XP / 4 GB for Windows Vista and Windows 7 * Hard Disk: At least 16 GB of free space Minimum specs: * Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD equivalent * Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800, 512 MB memory or ATI equivalent * Memory: 1 GB for Windows XP / 2 GB for Windows Vista and Windows 7 * Hard Disk: 8 GB for the game installation and 8 GB for bonus materials Gametrailers Witcher 2 video page. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/the-witch...assins-of/12906 Special (physical) edition comes with a free Witcher 2 laser mouse and mouse pad if you pre-order at EB, haha. Only $88.00, not too bad for EB Games. They're even undercutting JB Hifi on a number of games these days. http://www.ebgames.com.au/pc-150896-The-Wi...mium-Edition-PC I was going to post the Steam link, but it has disappeared from the Australian Steam store, for some reason... no doubt it'll pop back up with some ridiculous price tag sometime soon. Also available on GOG.com for preorder -- $44.95, and DRM-free, for those DRM Nazis out there! :) Your game comes more pure than the purest game that ever pured.

[PC] The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

For the 360 dudes out there... a Witcher 2 X-Box 360 announcement video has been released. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2011-the-witcher/714516 Can't tell if the game footage in the video is from the PC version or not, though.

The rallycross was a nightmare, haha... but the rest was good fun. Definitely have to do it again. :)

Haha, I wouldn't be too afraid... I'm not that good. I just play a lot of sim racing games. Rally is my fav motorsport, and playing Richard Burns Rally has hardened me and helped my concentration a lot over the past few years. :p ... but I definitely still make mistakes... missing pacenotes, people talking to me on Steam, distracting me (HI NUKE) and so on. Haha. Flouncy and some of the other more hardened racers around here will probably beat me easy.

[PC] The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

The game gets better when you hit Vizima, Mojo. The prologue is really annoying.

Screwed up near the end, but nothing drastic.

    [ALL] Dirt3. Anyone playing yet?

Ignore the bad fps... Fraps killed my game performance and it was running at 34-37fps. The new ATi driver hotfix have bumped up game performance for me though, now I record at 55-60fps. Anyway, enjoy. Uploading a Kenya rally video now.

Probably doesn't feel like 540 responds well, 'cause you're used to a lower rotation and you're not turning the wheel enough. :P I've never tried time trials vs WR holders (don't really care to), so I can't help ya there. :)

I'm using a G25, so my methods are a little different, seeing as I have the optional sequential shift.I set the shifter to sequential, I use the paddles for gears, 540 degree wheel rotation (same as a real WRC car), and for the handbrake I pull down on the shifter. It works fairly well. I got the idea from a number of Richard Burns Rally players who haven't made a custom handbrake. I used to use the H-shifter for my gears, and left paddle for handbrake in DiRT 2 (as I'm left handed, so I have the shifter on my right, only left hand on the wheel most of the time). Recently changed to my new method, so I have two hands on the wheel most of the time, for better car control. You could however, try something similar, but make shifting into 4th on the H-shifter your handbrake. You just have to remember to slot it back to neutral when you're done, as it doesn't spring back like the sequential does on the G25. Just play around and see what works best for you, and what feels more comfortable/natural.
