*** Steam christmas sale is on NOW ***

Man why'd ya have to go and mention NBA Jam...What I would give for an arcade one of them!
  2. Am I missing something other then a daft punk soundboard?
  3. I'm looking around at the moment. I have found two monitors for sale used. http://www.benq.com.au/products/LCD/?product=1403 That one is only a month old. http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Sp...ArticleId=23544 That one is 12 mths old. Apart from the obvious size difference, static ice gives me an average price difference of about $200. Why is the LG panel nearly double the price new?
  4. I've got most of the new parts ready for my PC. As of tuesday it will be setup as follows; AMD Phenom II 550 4gb Kingston DDR3 Gigabyte 785GT-UD3H Galaxy 8800GT LG 17" LCD Now I have about $250 spare to spend and I need to get a video card or a monitor and then the other one in a month or two. How long will the 8800GT last me? I haven't done any PC gaming for a few years so this is the list I'm starting with of games. Any of these that the setup will struggle with. Im upgrading to a 5770 eventually, possibly a 5850 is budget allows. As well as borderlands, TF2 and Modern Warfare 2. If I can just buy a Samsung 2333+ monitor with my cash now then save up for a 5850 and get that in a few months it would be better. I don't want to be stuck not being able to play much on my 8800gt though. I'm getting the card given to me from a mate.
  5. I know quite a bit about LCD & Plasma TVs but not monitors. In TV terms LG are one of the cheaper brands thats why I was asking!

All I need from this sale is TF2 dirt cheap and I'm happy. I could be tempted by MW2 and borderlands though.

    TPG Anygood

Tell me how being clever or "knowing what I'm doing" is going to remove the 30gb of off-peak downloads that were accidentally added to my on-peak last month and capped me. Everyone will need tech support at one stage or another.

I literally can't unlisten this at all now. Especially the chorus.

Node and TPG are only $50 a month for ADSL with massive data allowances, much better imo provided your not a download whore. Yes but Node & TPG don't include line rental ($25) and $50 of included local and national calls. I think that evens its all up. My parents are with node on the 50gb easy internet or something that monitors uploads and downloads and its perfect for them. Good mix of value and support.

Yeah something like that! I don't have access to ADSL2 and I found AAPT were also one of the only ones to offer me ADSL18000k. I pay $140/mth which includes line rental, $50 included calls, 20gb 8am-8pm & unlimited 8pm-8am. I can download about 32gb in the offpeak per night if I wanted too. Its only $99 a month if you have ADSL2 or the standard 1500k ADSL1.

and you know this from? please don't say whirlpool forums. I am currently on the AAPT 8000k ADSL1 20gb/unlimited plan and my girlfriend has the 120gb TPG plan. I setup and monitor both of them so have dealt with both parties. AAPT were just frustrating, the people didn't really know what to do or say. The TPG guys seem to know whats going on but don't really care or are way overworked. That said, I've found both offer awesome value for money. I download about 20gb a night with my AAPT connection with ease. I have been averaging anywhere from 200-500+ gig a month since the unlimited off peak came into play. I love it and couldn't even think of using someone else now even if they are a pain to talk too!
  12. I was just browsing. Chances are I'll be getting a Samsung 2333+ new from MSY but am curious as to the differences between the more exxy models.
  13. Yeh this is the 2nd WD drive that has died on me within 12 months. I've also got one here that a mate gave me which died after about 20 months. Its only a 160gb so we aren't bothering sending it back RMA. Those rules are as strict as they to discourage people from sending them back and giving them many a number of excuses to knock the RMA back. http://support.wdc.com/warranty/rmapacking...end&lang=en Just fucking look at that. Singapore god damn.
  14. What do you expect just to chuck in a box send it away? Its your choice to do registered post. bubble wrap and box wouldn't have cost more then $2. The drive needs to be not able to move inside box at all. The RMA number must be printed on all sides of the box and a heap of other unnecessary shit. I don't get why they aren't covering the cost of their drive stuffing up either. It was an extra $6 or so for registered post so it still would have cost $25 if I didn't send it registered. Why wouldn't they have somewhere in Australia at least that we could send it. Fuck Western Digital, Ill never be buying them again.
  15. You could always get one of those power point timer thingo's from bunnings. I don't know if you could attach it so that it couldn't be tampered with. Perhaps set it up on a power board & then wrap a ton of electrical tape around it. Crude yes but should be effective.
  16. I've sent it back to singapore. $30 for registered post. Not to mention having to source the bubble wrap, right sized box, anti-static bag and a ton of tape and printing. The guidelines for WD RMA are ridiculous!

TPG & AAPT both have a pretty good set and forget system. Although they both suck at any after sales support or tech help.
  18. Yeh I think I will pickup one of those Samsung 2333+ screens alot of people seem to recommend for about $200 and then save up for a 5850.
  19. Dude you get what you pay for. If your not happy with it go buy from from a computer shop with higher prices so that they can give you better service. Your describing MSY not Umart. Umart definately don't have the lowest prices. I was actually using them because I wanted good service and had heard good things. I ended up buying from 2 other stores, both cheaper and both with better service! As for the spam email situation, I highly doubt that major discussion on two of Australia's busiest online communities would just be bullshit. There has to be some substance to the claims. Yes as I said, some kind of spoofing. It happens to everyone at one time or another. As for prices MSY V umart V others it's always a mixed bag, it depends on where you want to shop and how convenient it is. The price difference on individual parts is nothing amazing, it really comes down to which store is closer to you thus saving you time and fuel costs. :) By the way wingepool being a busy site does not make the information given there any more credence than any other site. ;) It does mean that any unsubstantiated or unbacked topics will be brushed by the wayside quickly. Unlike these forums which has 5 pages of people discussing a bloke being ditched on NYE by his "missus" I read the thread at wingepool it really is a small amount of people encountering this problem, so I take it with a grain of salt (as i do with most things i read there). And their social forum is just as full of fluff as the green room ;) But hey if we are to backwards/redneck for you then you know what to do :D I'm perfectly happy with these forums, Just don't think your in any position to be throwing stones!

  22. On the OCAU & Whirlpool forums there has been big discussion about Umart leaking/selling user emails. Apparently a ton of people have been getting spam that traces back to umart. I was about to order from them when I realised this DD bullshit and the fact you cannot get a postage quote without placing an order. Poor business if you ask me.
