Found out that I share my birthday with an Australian Adult Entertainer that I follow on Twitter.

Post Your Latest Real Life Purchase!

Picked one of these up for $780 with free shipping during the recent Black Friday sales with a 20% eBay discount. This thing is a fucking beast!

    What's on your mind?

Is it normal to have music, Plex and tweeting to a sex worker at the same time on twitter? #IsItNormal

    What's on your mind?

We had all of our Care Homes in South Australia down because of the savage weather there over the past couple of days. Power came back on for them in about four hours, which is awesome. Phone and Networking capabilities, not so much. Two out of the five are still skittish on phone and network connectivity and were escalated to our suppliers. When one of them told me that a technician wouldn't get there until next Tuesday, it took a bit to bite my tongue. Tech is currently out there now liaising with our network supplier/monitor, so it's completely out of my hands. Glad I go back on Tuesday, I need a three-day weekend. And Alcohol.

    2016 - Upgrade Australia - Sydney

Really wished that I could've come along, but Adelaide happened and we had five sites without power, phones or networking to communicate or connect to our systems. Besides, this week was just a shambles for me to be honest. Looked awesome from what I saw from some friends that went there.

    Lego

Seriously, this is just tragic. And within the first HOUR that the show was open to the public! https://www.yahoo.com/news/kid-destroys-15-000-lego-065937181.html On the bright side, he could use a Lego Chainsaw to go after the kid :P

    What's on your mind?

Just learned that VannA is a friend of a cousin on my father's side of the family. Fucking small world let me tell you! EDIT: In unrelated news, my time at the law firm is up, but as a "Good Faith" gesture, they have extended my employment until the end of February. Bad news: I need to look for a new position somewhere else, and I may have a position lined up already. Good news: It allows me to engage further in Friday Night drinks further than I would otherwise limit myself to :P

    What's on your mind?

Had my four month review done, and for some reason was saved to a publicly available location on the corporate network. The mistake was quickly rectified, but the general feeling was that they wanted the resolution handed to them on a Silver platter. However, someone got wind of it and took a look. Needless to say, they had a few choice words for my manager, which was then passed down to me. They basically complained about my lack of "Customer Service". Now last time I checked, I didn't gain employment at a shopfront dealing with the general public. There was another one that complained because a program shortcut from their Start Menu wasn't on their desktop. FFS. Take some initiative, common sense and do it yourself! Needless to say, the mistake was rectified, but they then complained again that they would have to send ANOTHER email out with a link to the new file. I can only hope that this interview goes really well on Friday. I feel like I need to get out already. And if it is successful, I will be getting out. No way am I passing an opportunity like this.

    What's on your mind?

Saw a job opening for Atlassian for a IT Helpdesk Technician. Needless to say, my resume and LinkedIn profile both needed updating as well, and this was something that I wasn't going to not apply for.

    What's on your mind?

It's been a little while since I've ventured to this corner of the Internet, so it's time for an update. I've been looking for a new employer since the beginning of April and I feel that I'm finally close to getting back into the workforce. This was purely due to the fact that the organisation was downsizing and consolidating resources for fewer staff to manage. I've been in talks with about a dozen or so places since I've been out ranging from Amazon Web Services, to law firms, IT Services companies and a few others. The most recent one was for a Level 1 Role at a Data Centre based just outside the CBD, and I feel that how the interview went today, I'm a strong candidate for the position, so he'll let me know by this time next week. I also decided to go and see John Oliver while he was in town a couple of weekends ago, and thought he was brilliant. Not to mention the success for his church "Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption" #praisebe which he mentioned a few times during the show. In other news, I finally got my tax return after it was delayed by a few weeks, and made a new friend in the process (He wasn't cheap, but he's so damn awesome already!): Also, I'm going to PAX AUS when it's on in the October-November weekend, and I've got the accommodation and three-day pass sorted, just need to book flights and I'm all good. Cannot wait, it's been good the past couple of years and it's great to get out of Sydney for a few days too.

    Lego

I'm not really sure to be honest. I bought the BrickPi to get into it, but never got around to it. In Lego news, this was just announced as part of the Lego Creator series alongside the VW Kombie Van and the Mini Cooper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pl-TKIp-A8k The Brick Fan
  15. Just came through on the grapevine that Sir Christopher Lee has passed away aged 93 in London. Frankenstein, Scaramanga, Sauron and Count Dooku were some of the roles that Sir Christopher Lee played over his lifetime. He was also a member of a heavy metal band during his later years, which is surprising. RIP Sir Christopher Lee, you will be missed.
