  2. Hi everyone, Wanting to upgrade my system. First up is wat I have. The second list is what I want. Honest opinions please. I know it will cost alot but I'm not to worried about price. i7 920 asus Rampage III Formula 6 gb G skill tri channel gtx 480 FWC 120GB OZC revo drive SDD 1tb HDD Thermaltake 760is watercooler Thermalchill 3 x 120mm Rad 650w Corsair PSU h50 cpu loop Looking at upgrading to, either GTX590 SLI with water blocks --- Or--- ATI 6990 CRossfire passive air corsair 1200W 80+ gold PSU 6gb corsair dominator GT ram WD volociraptor 600gb razor black widow keyboard RAT 9 mouse It's the GPU's that has me second guessing. No real difference from wat I can see from reviews. Also noticed that apparently there is no real driver for the SLI 590. Perhaps I should just get 1 to start with? Opinions appreciated. The upgrade will leave me with spare parts too. will be looking to get ride of those.

    Another upgrade - GPU conundrum

The 6990 don't have water blocks yet. None that I could find. Once I pay this off I think a water cooler upgrade will be on the blocks. My ideas on storage have also been changed. After reading all if decided on the following, Saitek Cyborg R.A.T. 9 Gaming Mouse Gigabyte GeForce GTX 590 3GB x2 EK-FC590 GTX Acetal Nickel - 590 waterblocks x2 Tygon 3603 Tubing 1/4 ID Intel Core i7 990X Enermax Revolution85+ 1250W Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) Dominator GT Samsung EcoGreen F4 2TB Look forward to the purchase. 5. Hi All, I have a Revo Drive installed running Win 7 64bit. I've got 60Gb left and it always seems to be filling up. I move downloads straight away into an external drive. I dont know much about Raid. But the Revo runs in Raid 0. Is it possible to install another 120GB SSD 2.5" and Raid it to the revo to give me more space? Help is appreciated.

    SLI help

Got 1 of each card. Just got the 480 but the 580 has just come out. Thinking about picking it up. But I also have the older 295 and a water block. Thought about just putting the 2 in SLI for a little more power.
  13. Hi all. I just upgraded my system. Looking for thoughts on the parts I chose and help in setting up my new water cooling loop. New specs are Corsair 800D Corsair 650w PSU Asus Rampage III formula 6 GB G skill ram i7 920 over clocked to 3.2Ghz Corsair H50 CPU loop 2 TB HDD - Games + Apps 64Gb Samsung SSD - OS LG blue ray burner Samsung DVD burner Thermaltake 760is Water cooling loop for GPU GTX480 factory water cooled - EVGA I plan to buy a second radiator for the GPU loop 3 fan lengths for the top of the case. To help with the cooling. Apparently the 760 isn't that good. What type of fittings are needed for this? I noticed most add on radiators are missing the connectors. Or is this a check to see type of thing? Do I really need a new PSU or should 650 cut it? Appreciate the feed back and help.
  14. Looks good to me. I guess i'll have to monitor my setup for a month and check the temps. Whats a good free temp control program?
  15. damn, I was originally gonna buy the zalman reserator XT. I know the 760 is a fairly cheap build. The front don't match wit the case. I needed to bend it in shape. So if this was your gear. What would you have cooling it, water wise? I would prefer 2 loops though. If the 480 can hit temps like reviewed. Add the ambient temp and ill melt the case.
  16. Cant return any of this now. The reason for 2 loops was I live at charters tower far north QLD. Ambiant temp is 30 degrees. With a second radiator to run the 480's massive heat through I thought it would be enough. With the cpu running ok even under the stock fan. Question on the radiators. I would need some type of thread to hose clamp thing right? from radiator to tubbing.
  17. Hey all, I looking at over clocking my system to around the 3.9Ghz mark. I've got a stock cooler but the 900 two case has enough air flow to rival a small plane. Hoping someone here alreday has a stable clock using these components. -i7 920 -P6T Deluxe v1 no OC palm Also running 6Gb of Gskill ram. Just looking for some Bios settings for a stable clock. Thanks all. I just dont know enough about over clocking to attempt this without blowing something up.

    MY NEW PC!

Hi all I just bought the following... and Thermaltake soprano rs100 full tower corsair 650w asus p6t deluxe intel i7 920 6gb ram Gskill - tri channel asus 4780HD 1tb wd I love it. It's demolished RA3 on ultra specs with anti aliasing and COH with the same result... My only problem is the graphics card pumps supper heated air into the ase of my case. Im hoping 2 x 12cm fans will help redirect hte flow out the case... what do you all think?
  23. Hi All I've got an intel i7 with the heat sink and fan that came with it... But it still seems to be running at around 50 degres on idle. Also my GPU HD4870 is generating alot of heat. the fans seem to be always running extremely fast. I thought 2 x 12cm fans could help pull the heat eout of the case? are water cooling solutiomns really that good:?
