    Windows 8 Information ?

I'll buy it on my laptop. How many hours left again till we start downloading it? Just over 5 hours? :S It's something I'd give a shot for a $40 upgrade.

    GTX560 Pixel Fill rate

After a quick Google, it looks like some other guys with similar cards are having the problem as well: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161807 Here's the reason why: http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155459

    GTX560 Pixel Fill rate

Hmm, that's weird. What really gets me though is that both screenies show 32 ROPs which is what you times by with the Core Clock. Could be a driver related issue? I don't know. :| As for it's importance. IMO, Texture Fill Rate is more important so don't be too down with the Pixel Fill Rate getting chopped. As logical as it sounds, Pixel Fill Rate simply is number of pixels the card can render to the screen every second. Performance cut? Well it PFR doesn't linearly scale with the performance. Shaders are the more important guys now.

    Custom Fonts?

Hi guys, it's been a while since I've been around. Anyways, I made a simple Website for my CG organisation (my friend gave me a design) and the font is in Xirod, and I was wondering whether I could make it so people do not have to have to font installed on their computer and they can see the font? Also I'm up for some constructive criticism as well. :P Here's the Website: http://unfairadv.net/

    Learning the ways of Cisco

Yeah^ CCNA assumes you've already done basics - like in the Cisco Certification way, CCENT. However, the Networking Fundamentals subjects that you will do in Uni or something will go through CCNA 1. When you do your CCNA, you will do 1, 2, 3 and 4 1 = Network Fundamentals 2 = Routing Protocols and Concepts 3 = LAN Switching and Wireless Demo 4 = Accessing the WAN After that, they'd probably recommend you do a Concentration CCNA course, like Voice or Security before you move on to the higher Cisco courses like CCNP. One thing never to forget is how to subnet. You'll learn it in Network Fundamentals or CCENT, and you'll use it all throughout your future if you head down the networking field.

    25GHz CPU

Doubt it. They'd be shrinking processes and adding more cores.

    Learning the ways of Cisco

I've done CCNA 1 last year for a first year subject, I'm currently doing CCNA 2 for my major, and I'm going to do CCNA fast track from one of my Lab tutor's other workplace. I study through Cisco NetAcad, and through Cisco M-Learning on my iPhone.

    Corsair H80 & H100

And then there were the days where Master Scythe would say Noctura. :P
  10. It should just use the same bandwidth as is max allowed through a PCI-e 1.0/1.1 slot. Notice a difference in frames? Depends on the game and what settings, but I doubt people will catch it whilst playing, unless they have something displaying the frames per second.

Power bill 1300 ...say no to carbon tax

My family's bill this quarter was $1111.31 (If it were only 20c cheaper...), but that's because of the hectic use of ducted AC. I think the single ones are better in some situations - like when the whole family is in one room.

ASUS Unveils Several Additional ROG Awesomenesses

Lose it. Like there's a market for AMD CPUs for people like you, there's ROG for people like Maxishine. :D

    Uni offers

Have fun! I'm doing that too, but I'm going into my second year - the year you focus on your major.Hopefully you make your choice as to what area of IT you want to focus on after you finish the core subjects this year. :D
  16. Blimey Tunksy, 480mm rad? Yesterday was a really hot day in Sydney, my case was so hot, especially on the top panel. Even though I don't know much about Watercooling, or moving in that particular field, I would love to cut out that panel and just stick some fans there for another hot day like that. =/

    Upgrade advice needed.

    It's a re badged 9800GTX+
  19. Tooless and something else. =/ I do agree with the cable management, but the case is so damn roomy anyway. The only reason I wanted a case that big, because I thought graphic cards are just getting bigger, so I thought I'd keep it for another 10 years. :P

Holy crap, I never knew RAM got that cheap! $87 for 6GB of DDR3 D:

    New pc

Well technically, the HD6000 series supports 3D, but with 3D, I think it's best to stay with Nvidia anyway.

Why the Opposition's Broadband Plan is better

So broadband at any cost is worth it then, since you're not arguing about cost. This is the problem I have. All government projects have a cost to the community, and this one being such a massive project has a massive price tag. That you don't want to argue about. It's the 'fuck you I want broadband' attitude that disturbs me the most. I think broadband is important, but I don't think it's so important that people who already have access to 100Mbps need to have fibre rolled out to their homes, which will happen under the current plan. Exactly! I dislike those people that think like that too Mac Dude! If cost wasn't an issue, Banned, then nearly everybody here would be in support of NBN. It's a big issue. It's from what distinguishes between Essentials/Desirables and Luxuries. NBN is a waste of money at the moment, it's more of a luxury. IMHO, we have other things that NEED to be done to Australia, especially towards public services. Most people here and there are sitting on speeds of like 1.5Mbps+, when they know that there are better speeds available, then they should know whether to upgrade their connection type to cable and stuff, but not everywhere in Australia is covered with speeds of an ADSL2+, which is what that extra $2b in the Coalitions plan was about, trying to cover at least 97% of Australia with a speed like that. I know some of my friends I play online games with are on like D: 2Mbps and U: 500Kbps, and they've asked their ISP to increase the speed, but there's nothing much to be done, because they don't live where ADSL 2+ is available. Their speed is decreased because of how far away they are from the exchange. They don't lag in COD or whatever I play with them, only if there are 2 more users in their LAN at home. In the end, this will all have to be paid off, and since there aren't many Commonwealth assets left in Australia to be privatised, you taxpayers will be paying it off, and so will I when I graduate and find a full time job, so will that kid in Year 4 that I saw when I was in Year 12, for what the seats voted for, for something not even in need for <10% of the Australian population. 12Mbps is far more than enough for most of us out there, and that 12Mbps would have been the baseline.

    Becoming a bachelor again...

Well if you can crack an egg, I think making French Toast shouldn't be too hard for breaky as an alternative to cereal from there. Oven Food should be good and easy to make as well, or you can buy pre-packed ones. All the best! Hope these three months put a test to your cooking. :P
