    4820K doing 4.8

When I began ocing. I first overclocked a Pentium 4 from 3.0ghz to 3.6ghz. it was to impress all of my friends and knowing nothing about voltage back then I don't know how I even achieved it. 3.6ghz was high enough to grant myself success. Lol After a while I understood the reason for the other voltages like vtt and used that to engineer my skills to now basically one clicking everything until it feels right. on my current motherboard tho everything is automated and I don't need to change a thing! it's the level up CPU bios on the gene. basically does the work for you. adjustments I find are only necessary if you are really wanting a clock and want to get it right, but my pc was booting for an hour without reverting and windows had the block on me after 4.994. it happened up to the point where I was forced to reset my bios because - > windows deleted my boot sector to fail my overclock stopping me from further attempting to use a windows environment to capture my effort. B4 that everything was peachy so to squeek. Lol sry about the life story about my adventure ocing, but this thread needs to close to a point and I hope it helps. Lol C:

    4820K doing 4.8

here is as high as I could go. windows would not boot properlly a single mhz higher. rampage gene happilly restarted my pc successfully for an hour and over as I was trying to weed out windows control of my pc from bios settings. If my pc breaks after this (currently running this clock right now) at least I captured this screenie. ALso note in bios this is officially 5130Mhz. although a low oc. it is rock solid. just temps need to cool off or my CPU will die boohoo D: - > 40-60*c.

Previously I overclocked a 920 to 4.63. This is a new high for me. 4.8 being loading into windows. I booted at 6.25ghz once. windows downclocked it though so I could not a get a screenshot. Boohoo C:

It did cross my mind. Although now I am back on Ivy. I got my gear setup and running beautifully. The new cooler is a CoolerMaster 12cm rad edition. I could have reused my Kuhler edition, but I hate putting old fans on new tech. plus I got this system together for under 500$. I have to say going back never felt better! I have to hand it to Intel for giving up so much bandwidth I am beginning to feel like there is hope left.

Well I have this rare condition where my peripheral vision is better than my frontal vision. It's actually better in a way that it is enhanced over normal vision. I can see the dots of light in my room through the window in the dark better out of the corner of my eye rather than looking at them straight on. This setup makes it easy for me to utilize that skill. The short version. because it's rad.
