The tech you really hate setting up

I must agree with many of you. Printers are the bane of my existence. They aren't particularly hard, just annoying and boring.

The reason that cyclists aren't allowed on the footpath is due to the amount of accidents with pedestrians.... Alot of roads don't have footpaths either dude..

Less dangerous than the footpath. And drivers should be able to see them in the shoulder easily. If that's where you drive, then of course you are going to hit them...

what about it is rubbish? its just my own opinion cyclists should stay on the bloody footpath were they belong. What we were saying is that cyclists are not supposed to ride on the footpath. They are supposed to ride in the road shoulder, or on the road. They are also supposed to obey road rules. Then again though, people jaywalk and walk accross pedestrian crossings all the time when they aren't supposed to. Maybe people need registration, not the vehicles they use.

Actually, cyclists around here get in shot for being on the footpath lol. I'm looking at getting a Prolimatech Mega Shadow and just some decent 120mm fans with red LED's. Would also like one of These, but it depends how much light is in it already. Don't want to ruin it lol.

I had a think about your post Akimbo, and I guess you are right. I ride / drive often so I can see both sides. The only thing I don't like is that it wouldn't surprise me if the good old government slapped a hefty rego on bikers... Also, while I have also almost hit several bikers due to them being stupid, I have also almost been hit by plenty of car drivers due to there negligence. In saying that, if it forces bikers to get some kind of insurance, it will highly benefit both parties

ahhh man that sucks... i cant believe they are thinking of making cyclists pay rego / insurance too. As if we need to pay for MORE things

Yeah, Im sure it will be ok. I have one of the first Coolermaster SLI Ready PSU's they brought out in my CM690 case, so as long as the cables are as long / longer, it should be sweet.

Any idea what the length on the cables are like? HAF X is a huge case...

Already have a ATI 4890, does a pretty good job keeping up ;-) What would be a good PSU (modular) for what i have? I was thinking 650-700 would be where i would sit. I liked the strider because it's completely modular. Edit: I also like that I could get a fair wattage out of a PSU that only costs $184. If i was gonna go a 650W or something I would not wanna spend the same ammount
  11. Hi guys, Got my tax refund today (finally). Thanks to all the posts of being reading lately, and some of your help you have given me previously, I am investing in the following parts for my upgrade: OCZ 60G Vertex Series SSD Intel Core i5 750 Processor LGA1156 2.66GHz 8MB Cache CPU G-Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz SilverStone ST85F-P 850W Strider Plus Power Supply CoolerMaster RC-942-KKN1 HAF X 942 Black No PSU Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3R P55 4DDR3 PCIE GLAN 2SATA3 ATX SILENTPIPE Very excited about building this one. Going to hold of on OC'ing the CPU until I save up enough to get a decent cooler etc. (Prolimatech Mega Shadow) Anyone else going to be hitting up the IT stores soon for the same reason? Edit: Left off the motherboard (whoops)

Backing up a home file server

Whilst i am a big fan of syncing, i like that imaging compresses so well. Unless someone has an alternative to imaging that compresses decently without risking integrity???

Backing up a home file server

Hmmm... JBOD looks interesting. Is it relatively easy to set up? Is it a lot more reliable than RAID 0 because there is no performance increase - just a large drive?

Backing up a home file server

I was probably thinking a Striped array so that i can use 2 drives as a single drive, plus there would be a performance increase as well
  15. Hi everyone, I am looking at making a home file server / media center to store all my data on. I was also thinking of having a RAID array so i can take say 2 1TB drives and combine them. I was just wondering if creating a system image of this RAID drive to an external 1TB with Acronis is an ample way of backing that data up? (The reason i say a 1TB external, is because usually Acronis compresses the image fairly well.) Has anyone out there already got a similar setup? Some tips would be greatly appreciated :-) Thanks in advance
