  6. Hi all I recently made a dumb mistake with my old computer and fried my motherboard but as my mums work had recently replaced there computer i mangaged to get a new box with the following specs: Intel Pentium 4 2.60GHz Asus P4P800S mobo 2x 512mb DRR 400 Some unknowen GPU (haven't got the computer to work yet so i dunno what it is) 500GB SATA (with my OS Windows XP on it) 80GB IDE (with all my music) Either of my drives are partitioned in any way but i have no idea what configuation they are in (sorry about my spelling my mums laptop doesn't have spell check). My previous box was similar but ran AMD CPU But now when i try to boot up it comes up with "read disk error" i have no idea why its doing it and would like some helpful pointers in fixing it but without losting my data if possible. I have already tried using the Windows Revcory disk but when it asks for the admin password i have no idea what its asking for as it doesn't accept either of the admin accounts passwords. Would it be possible to get my extenal 1TB drive running XP and use it to rescue all my data? Please help, Ducky

Okay been looking around and the GA-P55A-UD3 looks like a really good bet with a cheap GPU to keep thing ticking over. Does anyone have any bad point to the Antec 900 2 as a case and my old PSU for powering the new system, and yes i intend to overclock. Would i be able to buy a 2GB stick of RAM to go with the 2x1GB sticks i already have?

    Your advice Please

Okay my current spec's are CPU:AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8GHz Mobo:Giagbyte K8NS-939 GPU:Sapphire Radeon 9600 series 512Mb PSU: Antec Smartpower 350W RAM: 512MB DDR genric Case: Old Antec Harddrives: 1x80GB IDE 1x500GB SATA2 I looked at the GA-H57M-USB3 and its seems a better chose as it gives me time to save for a GPU, but my computer wills have some kind of grpahics support in the mean time. But its has less PCI slots and is a mirco ATX, which i dont like, but is there an point worrying about them? Is this board any good at overclocking? Im thinking i may buy a cheap $50 GPU for the mean time, cos well its better than my current and is nearly as cheap as the GA-P55-UD3 but the GA-P55-UD3 doesn't have USB 3 support which is a bummer.

Why iv heard the i5 750 and the P55A-UD3 are very good. So why not?

    Your advice Please

Budget is $610 for a case CPU, mobo. I want the Antec 900 2 as its a good case and im unlikely to upgrade the case for several years.
