  6. I agree with Dasa here on the FSP Raider series of PSU's, they are awesome for the price (the bronze cert is spot on), im using the 650w atm its powering an overclocked 955 @4Ghz and a overclocked 570 with ease. Very quite and plenty of power.

Got pulled over by the cops...

POTM The boys and girls in Blue are just like us.. some good some bad, but they do a job that most of us would would not want.

Oh Noes who cut the Line

Sorry to hear of all the issues you've had Code, thats piss poor by telstra... I would get a pre-paid smart phone, most PP plans have at least 400mb of internet for you to use, i just set my daughter up with a Samsung Ace, $129 on a $30 Pre-paided plan, $200 worth of txt and calls and 500 Mb per 30 days, the Ace has full net axcess via 3g and can be used via a usb as a moden for your main Pc.
  9. Had to laugh when I read this bit.. what he probably meant was that you won't notice any difference between DDR3-1600 and DDR3-2400 but there certainly is one, the 2400 would be faster in any application which can take advantage of that. There are not many. If all you do is play games you don't need super fast RAM. Also 8GB is more than enough for games, 16GB would be overkill but sufficient to future proof.. please tell me why you think you need 64GB of RAM and what game is going to use it... I assume you're trying to build a powerful machine so let me offer a few other suggestions, drop the GTX670 for a 7970 which is cheaper and faster in every way. Do you really need an SSD and a 1TB raptor drive? I would say drop the raptor, they are loud and annoying and much slower than any SSD.. get a 7200rpm drive instead. I would get a Samsung 830 120GB drive instead of the Crucial but that's just from all the good things I heard about them. Why do you need that motherboard? Did you just pick the most expensive stuff you could find. For your build.. I can't see any advantage over a $150 board.. Save yourself $300, use it for a second video card, you'd get an actual performance increase. +10everything that p0is0n has said is good advice For Ram G.Skill Ripjaws F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL 8GB I just dropped this into my new rig, very good ram for the money ($49) PCCG Link you really dont need anything above 1600/8Gb for every day use and gaming, 2400 ram would be a total overkill.

    Show us your Rig

Well finally got around to building up my new rig, nothing to flash, but im very happy with it :) I moved the stock fan from the back to the front added 2x Corsair 120mm Quite AF fans, one to the back vent and one in front of the HDD bay and 2x BitFenix Red Spectre LED's 120mm to the top vents. Rig is: Case: Bitfenix Shinobi MB: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD7 Ram: GSkill RipJaw DDR3 1600 (in Red) CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 3.8Ghz GPU: Gainward Phantom GTX570 PSU: FSP Raider 650W Bronze Cert. HSF: CoolerMaster Evo 212+ HDD: 1x SamSung F3 Spinpoint 500Gb and 1x Western Digital 1TB Blue Build went smooth as silk, i didnt even have to re-install Win7 , just plugged in OS HDD and booted up( even when asked to Re-activiate just when through the online windows site, no probs). The wiring is "functional" not the best, but its as neat as i could get it in the time frame.
