Looking through the screen, and into your soul...
  1. Heres the Dealio: I have a bunch of Parts, about to be listed, and I need to find an affordable powersupply that will meet the wattage need of the system requirements: G.Skill GS-F3-10666CL9D-8GBXL (? Watts) Intel® Core™ i7-2600 Processor (95 Watts) Seagate ST31000524AS (? Watts) XFX HD-687A-ZNFC (roughly 500 (?) watts) On a totally related note Should i get a sounds card, or a monitor with speakers keeping in mind that i have turtle beach 7.1 surround sound headphones... That are made for PS3, but I can use for my Comp. Should I just go with Inbuilt Sound in the motherboard, or spend a little more for a sound card (around $100) Thanks for any help.

    LF Headphones

It seems a bit... fiddly. I dont want to be screwing around with more than one attachment. I'm REALLY just looking for a set of headphones with that inbuilt

    LF Headphones

Yeah, forgot to mention that i need a mic, but good suggestion, thanks.

    LF Headphones

I need a new set of headphones as my current ones are... substandard. i'm looking for a good quality pair up to $100. Basically what I need is adjustable length, comfy, and an inbuilt mic On a related note, I found a pair of Razer Carcharias that are <$100. Are they worth it?
  5. I've been looking at buying an android for a while now, and I came across a listing on ebay that was suprisingly cheap: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/N1-nexus-WiFi-dual-...U_Mobile_Phones I was looking at the photos of the back panel and the front four touch buttons when I realised it didn't look the same to some other reference pics: http://www.eurodroid.com/pics/nexus_one_en...g_service_1.jpg http://www.digitaltrends.com/wp-content/up...e-nexus-one.jpg It got me wondering, which I simplified down to two points: 1.) Is the phone being sold (for a suspiciously cheap price) the real thing? 2.) How can I tell between the ones that are real and the ones that aren't?

My PC, final design. Halp needed...

That's what I thought. So I think I should just get a HDD (the 1TB) for the majority of my programs and games, and have the SDD (Roughly 40-60GB) as my bot drive, with Win7 and Office.

My PC, final design. Halp needed...

That's why I was originally planning to have 2 x 1TB HDD's. Usually, the boot drive is just meant for the OS and a few programs that don't change very often (this is why games that have 'saves' aren't optimal for an SSD)

Just found the PSU, further down the list. Thanks.

My PC, final design. Halp needed...

True, I could save a bit If I went back to the UD3R, and I was thinking about this one before... The GTX 480 does operate slightly better than the XFX 5850 but it costs around $300 more... This is just an upgrade, from Windows Vista to 7, not a full copy. Thanks for that, Officially changed. and also... Intel X25-V 40GB SSD are around $188 Couldn't find it in my local store's catalog I assume the CMPSU-750TXAU wouldn't be far off?
  10. Hey guys (and girls) I (being me) am finalizing the design for my computer... I have checked again and again about compatibility between the components, this is just a last minute check... and suggestion board, because some of the products I'm getting, may not be appropriate for my use (3D Gaming and Rendering), and you may have to mentor me in the ways of the techie, for I am young and foolhardy. Here it is: Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 (Space for upgrades :) ) GPU: XFX 5850 CPU: Intel I7-930 (The only way I'm going is up. The 980X is far in the future, but the future holds cheaper prices.) HDD: 2 X 1TB Seagate Barracuda (Just space for stuff in general) PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 775W SP-TTPX775 Wireless card: TP Link - TL-WN951N RAM: Kingston 6GB KVR1333D3N9K3/6G Case: Lancool Dragonlord PC-K62 (Yet again, Space for Upgrades) Monitor: AOC 2236Vw 21.5" (Now I could get a bigger screen, but I thought I might start with something small first, then Hijack the family TV :3 ) Optical Drive: Samsung SH-B083A (For both DVD and Blu-ray) The overall cost for these from my local Comp store is: $2368 Not including the OS... So... What do you say?

Was back around the N64 yesterday playing Banjo-kazzoie and I remembered some of the games I used to play in ages past. This is just going to be a list of the games that make you 'Nostalgic'. I'll start. Starcraft Halo Runescape (everyone played it at one point, I'm still ashamed of myself) the original WoW (endless 14 day trails ahoy... $2 a pop...)

    Name that game!

I like what I see... but first... are you sure this wasn't a dream... Beacuse I've had an embarassing run-in when trying to purchase one of my dreams. (Hey, It was a good dream...) I haven't ruled it out.. but alas I do doubt it. I've actually contemplated remaking it (as much as possible from memory) with AGS and awaiting the "sue" just to find out the fucking name of it :P Not the way I'd go about it, but... Sure, whatever floats your boat... I do remember a certain game(s) that rings a bell with the above statements... There was 'King's quest' and 'Victor Vector and Yondo'... one popular favourite at my primary school was 'Freddie the Fish' Though I never saw everyone's obsession with it. I still reckon that my dream should be made a game... I don't think it would classify as 'Educational' though...
