    AMD Radeon R-200 Hawaii

If anyone is planning to get the 280x I suggest get the 7970 ghz for $329, it's a steal atm. The 280x is at an awkward position, on average its about $20ish above its price range, I think if they drop it abit to match the gtx 760 properly they'll thwart it. Performance wise it's already better they just need to be aggressive with their pricing. I'm calling the 290 to be priced at around $500-600 mark and the 290x to be about $750-800. Edit: My hope is to see AMD price the: (this is all AUS pricing) 270 at around the $200 mark 280 at around the $300 mark 290 at around the $450 mark 290x at around the $650 mark Edit 2: I realise this wont happen right away but hopefully 5-6 months down the track we'll see pricing like this coming along

    AMD Radeon R-200 Hawaii

Hmm I think sora might be right. AMD might actually be using the GCN 2.0 in their new cards as it will still be the same but different? I think they wouldn't just rehash their cards after almost 2 years of releasing their last set, rehashing and rebranding without tweaking them would be pretty silly but who knows? Still 7970 ghz edition at a $299 price point? Wow that's pretty insane, that slots it in line with the gtx 760.

    AMD Radeon R-200 Hawaii

Just found this out now but that isn't the successor to the 7850 rather the successor to the 7750. Apparently it's going to have specifications closely resembling he 7850. Should be interesting, but again damn that's a pretty wicked looking card lol

    AMD Radeon R-200 Hawaii

Apparently the new Hawaii R9-290x benchmarks have been leaked and well they are no short of very very impressive. In summary it's faster than the GTX Titan at almost half the price. Benchmarks can be found here Edit: The supposed successor to the 7850 looks pretty crazy and small? Cannot wait till they get announced.

    HD7000 rumors

Huh? I don't think anyone would crossfire a 7870 and a 7970. To be fair I don't see the issue with the quote either, they are just merely stating that the end user wants performance rather than figuring out the architecture behind it, which is 90% of people that i know who actually is interested in video cards and pc parts.

    GeForce Titan rumour thread

First titan I've seen on sale. $1329 just for the standard?? Jesus, you can fit 3x7970s for that price and still save a good $100. Crazy.

    GeForce Titan rumour thread

Fuck me dead that is one hell of a card haha, the one thing that I shudder to look at is the price. If its $1k in the US, I can only imagine what the price will be like here. Yuck, premium pricing ftw..

Two questions for you fine chaps.

MS, what card are you using for the 4 monitors? I don't know about old games but their drivers work perfectly fine as far as my friends and I know (we have AMD cards)?? o.O

Two questions for you fine chaps.

Sorry mate I'm gonna disagree with you on that one. AMD has made a huge leap with their drivers, maybe 4-5 years back they were abit shoddy but far from it today. Muchly on-par with NVIDIA. For Overclocking and bang for your buck go with AMD, what brand is up to you, gigabyte is usually pretty damn good but PC and HIS aren't bad either. Go with NVIDIA if you want abit more quiter and cooler cards, but you will pay more for them. You choice in the end, goodluck!

    HD 8000 rumours

Hmmm I like that article nobody, again, having a new gpu lineup every year would be too costly and risky. Me personally? I'm happy with the plans AMD have atm, I think its smart and saves alot of money. I think nvidia will follow suit aswell.

    HD 8000 rumours

Hmm there has been speculation and mainly rumours how AMD have 'apparently stated' that they are going to released their new HD 8000 series late this year/early next year however this article suggests otherwise. My guess is? Expect to hear/see things around June/July, I doubt they will leave it towards the end of the year though its not a bad idea. The HD 7000 series is quite remarkable from a price:performance ratio, considering that nvidia haven't really had a major price drop over here in Australia, I've seen/heard about alot of people coming over to the red team. Regardless I wouldn't be dissapointed if either team didnt release a new series this year, having a new lineup every year can only last so long in my eyes. 12. For your main machine as cleadge mentioned I'd get the 7870 myst editions, which is pretty much a 7950 but for $229 which is an absolute steal for the performance it puts out. But for your 1280 x 1024, you might aswell just get a 1g 7750, that should do the job, anything over would be pretty silly.

amd 5970 vs 6990 vs waiting

90% of gamers play on 1080p, so I'd just usually assume to be fair, but on your budget I'd definitely still go the 7950, you cant go wrong with it at the price its at atm
  14. `angerfist

    new budget graphics card suggestions?

If all you want to play is WoW and GW2, you don't even need a 7850 on 1080p, a 7770 would be perfect fine to play both comfortably at 60fps, last time I checked they were $130 on PCCG?

amd 5970 vs 6990 vs waiting

Definitely get a 7950 which you can get for $299 at pccg, you honestly won't regret it
