  1. Yet farmers are allowed (I thought) to shoot Dingos if they have them on or around their farms. The point is, while shooting a certain animal may seem like a good idea at the time, for whatever reasons, there are always repercussions and side effects that weren't thought out properly. For example, as much as feral cats eat native and rare Australian fauna, they also eat a lot of non-native lizards, rats, mice and birds which are introduced and therefore provide less competition to our native equivalents.

    Well Hello There!

Awesome, would love some Pride :) Great hop I use in some of my IPA recipes. PM Me your mobile number and I'll send you a txt next time I'm heading down to Canberra. I'll swing you a case of beer for the trade. Most hops will grow in Sydney just fine. Hops like moisture in the morning and dry days. Just be warned, if anyone offers you a male hop plant don't buy it, you need a licence to own one.

    HD7000 rumors

It will either use stock parts as mentioned or come with its own back plate and replacement parts. You won't regret the 7970, it's a monster of a card. We got 1350MHz Core Clock on one of our reference cards here in the office :) Hoping to see 1400+ as a regular OC from the Lightning and SOC on launch.
  4. Quite easy - use a rifle at distance. Shotgun close range. I laughed... I support shooting certain "pest" status animals in certain areas and situations. However, the last thing we want is another Thylacine debacle where we shoot Dingos or any other "farmland pest" into extinction.

    Well Hello There!

Heya Panzer, hope you stick around too. I'll make my "beer thread" in a couple of weeks when I set up my three-keg system :) I'll include photos and everything! Also Access I would love a hop vine. What species is it? I normally end up in Canberra every second month or so to visit friends.

    Aussie flag a racist favourite

I think this kind of media is a load of crap. It promotes intolerance and tries to point out cultural and racial difference. "An overwhelming 91 per cent of people with car flags agreed that people who move to Australia should adopt Australian VALUES, compared with 76 per cent of non-flaggers." - This isn't being racist, it's saying they should adopt our laws and morals. Saying people should forget their heritage and culture is taking it too far, but asking immigrants to respect ours is justified in my opinion. After all, we all have different heritage as Australians anyway. "Twenty-three per cent of flag flyers believed that true Australians had to be Christian, while 18 per cent of non-flaggers agreed with the statement." - Again, this isn't racist, just ignorant. Anyway, a lot of the stuff people seem to have said is racist, a lot of it isn't. The point I would like to make though is this kind of crap is not appropriate just before Australia day. Especially in a mainstream newspaper. it is potentially fanning flames that always spark up at this time of the year. now we're going to get "put your flag down you ozzy c*nt" from the tough gangs who for some reason live here but don't call themselves Australian. And the "Get back on your boat" from the people who read this and use the Australian flag as an identity for being a racist prick. GG Daily Telegraph, another Cronulla Race Riot is around the corner.

    Nvidia Kepler Rumors

The difference here is still that the 7950 is out on the market very soon, while no one even knows anything about the GTX 660 for certain, let alone a launch date. After we find out the launch date, add a month for Australian stock in any real sort of numbers, then add two months for prices to drop. I still see AMD 7970/50 being the card of choice in Australia, their prices will normalise faster than Nvidia.

No regular petrol in NSW after July

Really? But don't a lot of race cars (F1 and the like) run pure Ethanol? Please don't hate me for not following motor sports :P

    Car Body Kits

That is a low price you are paying, so I guess it really just comes down the inspection of the vehicle, checking it for any damage and taking it for a test drive to see how it runs and if it has any rattles / groans while driving. Never pay asking price either, biggest rookie mistake in the book. If you want it after looking at it, offer him 20% less what he is asking in cash. Most people selling their car are usually one of the following: 1) Short for cash and will take the offer for a quick sale 2) Just got a new car and no longer need the car (and therefore don't care too much about what they get for it) 3) Want to sell before rego expires 4) The car needs repairs greater than the immediate value of the car. (be wary of this) It's rare someone will just be selling their car for the hell of it and now plan on catching the bus. Most of the time you can talk them down because they need the money, and selling the car is a quick cash injection. I got my car ('98 Legnum) In near perfect condition inside with 58KM's on the dial for $9,500. The original asking price was $14.5k. I was willing to pay $14.5 given the condition of the car, but driving the sale in your direction will usually yield results. EDIT: Before anyone says my car has done 200,000 and the odometer was wound back (apparently common when buying imports). Please don't. It's obvious when a Japanese car has seen more than the clocked mileage. Given they usually drive shorted distances, that kind of range on the odometer is very obvious in the condition of not only the interior, but the entire car. This looked like near-new paint, perfect seats without any fade, and the wooden steering wheel has no signs of peeling or flaking due to wear and tear. usually dead giveaways of a wound-back car.

No regular petrol in NSW after July

Yes, but it also has other, more negative effects on many engines and engine parts too. I'm not going to pretend I know about cars, engines and fuels as I really don't have much of an idea outside of what I learnt in Year 12 Chemistry and Engineering Studies back in 2004. All I know is that I now only have to fill my car up about once every 6-7 days of driving around the city, whereas before I filled up every 5-6. I save about $30 a week on petrol due to the change to 98 along with a tune, and those were my results. I have tried using both 91+E, 91,95 and 98 to compare, and 91+E while it seems to have no real performance difference (the car doesn't feel noticeably faster or slower) does seem to burn through a tank around 10% faster, if not more.

No regular petrol in NSW after July

I used to spend around $90 per week on fuel, now I spend closer to $50-$55. So I guess it will take me closer to a year to make my money back, but I also got about a 15KW boost out of the change over. For those interested I drive a '98 Legnum VR-4

    Intel's Ivy Bridge Series Thread

I'd say it has more to do with your trail of thought Dasa. It's almost a given that any new (enthusiast) CPU coming out of the Intel Fabs needs to hit 5GHz in order to be a success in the eyes of overclockers. Overclockers write the magazines and websites, and for that reason it is important that Intel make a chip that impresses everyone. Given the 2600K commonly passed 5GHz I find it hard to imagine Ivy being too far off the milestone.

    Well Hello There!

*Chants* One of us, one of us, one of us... Did you play Source much? Any comps? I was part of team Rebellion, alias was [r.]Eradicator. Might have played against each other back in the days. thR was the only clan I played in for Source. We were pretty meh, and only played GA / Node ladders etc.

No regular petrol in NSW after July

Or you could spend about $400-$600 and take it to a good tuning center. The money you save on petrol from a good tune will pay for itself after a couple of months. not to mention you usually get a couple of extra killer wasps out of your engine.

    Car Body Kits

May I be rude and ask how much you are planning to spend? In my opinion you could probably find a better car than a Pulsar to drive around for similar cost.

No regular petrol in NSW after July

so they can buy 95 octane and get the slightly better mileage from it, it all works out the same $ wise Not true I use 98RON in my car and I get much better mileage. I have recorded my KM's driven and how many litres I get out of it for months, and I am of the opinion that 98, while more expensive works out around the same in the end in terms of KM's/$. Plus it is better for most engines to run anyway. Given the way fuel is refined though, you get far less 98 Octane fuel compared to the standard 91. So if more people start buying 95/98 than they used to, expect demand to be greater than supply and therefore price hikes.

    Well Hello There!

Hey Kzinti1, Yes, I meant beer. I have a couple of recipes on rotation already, but adding more to the book can never hurt if they are good enough ;) I've never been a huge fan of Guiness to be perfectly honest, the head is too thick for how watery the beer actually is. In my opinion it needs a little more roasted malt, but that is just the type of Stout I enjoy I guess. As for your problem, has Nvidia or who ever you are getting your information from informed you when the new revision of card came into circulation? If it is less than two months you may need to wait for a new revision of cooler to hit the market for it. Fail that have you tried the Cooling Configurator yet? It's a long shot as it is for EK blocks only, but it's worth a try. If you have tried getting in contact with manufacturers and they have no plans to create a new block revision for the GTX590 you only have three options really. 1. Trade the card for an older one + a small cash difference 2. Buy a universal block instead of full cover 3. Sell the card and stick with the one

    How to Surpise/Impress GF

It wouldn't be the internet without relationship advice. I think the advice given by myself and Justin wins so far TBH. Just clean the house, cook a kick arse dinner and generally spoil her around the house. After a long flight that is what my girlfirned does for me and it's just about the best thing you could ask for. EDIT: Been with my GF coming up 4 years now.

24 and never heard of those terms. I live in Kensington too, so I am surrounded by Asian culture and not once have I heard ABT or ABC or AB anything mentioned.

    HD7000 rumors

Yes, the naming scheme remains the same as the HD6000 series. The 7970 will blow your socks off, considering your card is roughly the same performance as a HD5830 :P should get around 250% FPS boosts in most games, if not greater depending on your CPU and res.

    How to Surpise/Impress GF

Take her to a craft beer pub. That is what I would want as a surprise. In all seriousness though, as mentioned, if she gets back on valentines day the last thing she is going to want to do is go out all night as she will be exhausted from the plane ride. Look up a recipe for some delicious versions of foods she enjoys (seafood, curries, dumplings or whatever she generally likes to eat). A good home cooked meal shows that you really care, anyone can go out and blow $150 at a restaurant. Run a nice hot bath (if you have a big one) and jump in there with her after dinner. Let her relax and possibly give her a bit of a rub down in the bath if she usually likes that sort of thing. Once you're both relaxed after the bath, go take Tantryl's advice (the sex part, not the blood lube part). EDIT: Also, its 1 year, 2 year, 3 year, 4 year, 5 YEAR, 6 year, 7 year, 8 year, 9 year, 10 YEAR, 11 year, 12 year, 13 year, 14 year, 15 YEAR etc etc. Why would you celebrate 4 times in the first year, then take a 25 year break from 25-50 year? The bold and capitalised ones are the most important and are generally every 5 years.

    Slower with more RAM?

1.55v will be more than fine. Give that a go, but don't go over 1.60v if you want the rig to be as reliable as possible in the long run. I run my Ripjaws at 1.85v at times when overclocking to 2400MHz+, so most kits can take a beating.
  23. unco_tomato

    Show us your Rig

Yes, it has a top cover on it to make it look neater by covering all the cables that usually tangle behind your PC. I like it, but if you don't there is no reason you just can't leave it off.

    Well Hello There!

Yes, I play 2-3 nights per week if that counts as regular. I'm not in an active clan though, so I generally end up flying solo and getting stomped by 5-man teams with proper hero picks. Meanwhile my team roles 4 agility carries and I almost give up before the round even begins.

    Well Hello There!

Thanks for the avatar Justin, I would have done it eventually. Or maybe not.... Seem to like some of the heavier Trappist / Belgian / French / styles eh? I'm more of a Pale / Dark ale man myself, though I am also known to enjoy the odd Hefeweizen / Saison if the mood is right. I'll get my favorites up tonight if I can drag myself away from drinking them for long enough.
