Yer, a statement like "they're better than the old buds" really doesn't mean much as the old buds were some of the worst speakers on the market. I haven't used the new buds so I can't speak from experience, but I wouldn't be surprised if a $15 pair of Logitechs like these outperformed them. I doubt I will hear the new buds, as I'm not spending $40 on something I'll never use. I've got these for home use and some terribly embarrassing Beats for the train (they were free, please don't hate me).

You're right, it seems most 7950's do have a HDMI. Some 7970 and 7870 models are starting to remove HDMI in favor of two DVI ports though.

Yer, people were farming cloth off the parachuters too. I think the new cloth is selling for around 11G each (220G per stack), so the hobos on the server with no gold are farming it up while it's valuable. I figured out a quick gold maker pretty quickly last night, made 15K in 2 hours, and half of my "stuff" hasn't sold on the AH yet. I'm hoping it's still as heavily profitable when I return home from work this evening. Also, did anyone here get stuck in the ques after trying to log on after 6PM? I turned on my PC and "logged in" at 6:05PM, I didn't get into Frostmourne until 10:20. Hope it gets better next week, though I don't have much hope for the rest of this one. Also if anyone wants to add me on Frostmourne, I'm on the Horde over there. PM me for my Real ID and we can do a couple of instances together. P.S. Does anyone have a raiding guild? I haven't played seriously since WoTLK, as in Cata I played casually, but I think I'm keen to get back into raiding with MoP. I've got the following: 85 Resto / Guardian druid (main) 86 Rogue Assasin / Subtle (farmer) 85 Paladin Prot / Holy (PvP) My others toons I'm not going to play in MoP just yet, but I've got a fairly high level in most classes (60-80).

Roughly 5% performance difference give or take, not a huge amount usually unless you're pushing monstrous overclocks or 2/3-way multi-GPU setups. The 7950 can be had for bargain prices, so it's a smart choice if you shop around. Just check though, as HDMI is phased out on a lot of AMD cards, you may want to check how you're going to connect the card to the TV.

  11. Sure, it's reduced, but it's such a trivial number it doesn't deserve argument. Especially when the opposing parties counter any sway by also voting for themselves. A rough count is just over 14.5Million registered voters from memory. I hardly think a few hundred politicians voting for themselves matters. Then what do you suggest? I'd agree improvements could be made in education in Australia, though most would argue it involves increased budgets for Public Schools, not reduced. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying? Are you saying people currently on welfare are only on welfare because they want a free ride? And if welfare is taken away, they will go out and work? If that's what you're saying, you need to do a little bit of reading. Look at any country that offers no welfare, people don't get jobs, they die, or live in slums. Crime rates go up, as does disease. What you're suggesting to me sounds a lot like many African nations, where they rely on charity to look after their own. It doesn't seem to be working out too well for most of them. Yes they are. Who else can help you when you lose your job? Sure, family can and in a lot of cases do help, along with friends. But you need an organisation like Cetrelink to assist people into work. Centrelink and associated third parties can offer basic training, and can really help you get a job if you're unskilled and under educated. I very strongly disagree with your opinion of Centrelinks irrelevance. But how is getting money from a charity any different to getting it from Medicare? Either way, people are giving money to an organisation to help people, it's just one is through taxes, the other is through donations. All that will happen is the charity won't have enough money to look after the sick and injured. I'm not sure why you think a charity would be more efficient than Medicare? In the case of suing someone for liability, you've now involved the courts. That's far more expensive than just going down to the hospital and getting an X-Ray and a cast for free. People were up in arms before the tax because no one wants to pay more money, especially if your business is burning tons of fuel every day. What now needs to happen is those businesses need to clean up their act in order to remain viable. Those that don't will go under, those that do will cut costs (by avoiding the tax) and remain competitive and viable. I know it's not as clean cut as that, but it's the mind set behind the tax. As mentioned, the tax has the potential to make my future business plan not just unprofitable for the first few years, but completely impossible. A little innovation, and I was able to rewrite my business plan, and seek help on some designs to avoid the tax almost entirely, while simultaneously saving money on CO2 purchases. Something I wouldn't have considered without the tax.

My goodness. It's going to be a power-level fest for me I think. I need to get into Stormstout Brewery!
  13. Try to work with paragraphs in the future, it helps break each point up into a manageable chunk. OK, let's try to digest all of this by first breaking it down into points. So you're saying that extra government bodies reduce citizen base to a point where we no longer have a valid vote? I can't image this is what you're actually saying as it's pretty silly, so forgive me if I misread. If you are saying that having an extra 100 or even 10,000 government employees dilutes the public vote, you're so far off the mark it's not even funny. Do you know what the voting population of this country is? "The people" are represented by their local members. If they no longer voice their constituents they won't be reelected in the next ballot. So you want parents to teach their children? What about work? Don't the parents need to go off to work? You want less welfare, yet you want each home to have a smaller income through labour. If you mean that all schools are privatized, instead of government run, it's a pretty stupid suggestion also, as how do potential universities and employers grade candidates? If I go to a school that has no curriculum, they could teach me Astrology and Crystal reading, but ignore Mathematics, you need structure in learning, not just "what you feel like". If you meant home schooling in larger groups, with maybe one parent staying home to teach a bunch of kids. The whole notion is ludicrous. It means the children will only ever be as intelligent as the sole teacher, and pretty much puts a halt to the generational progression we've been seeing over the past 300 odd years. Just so we know what you mean, could you please explain your idea for education in a little more detail? So we just hope people give their money to the poor? We abolish a system that works, and works rather well for a system that is guaranteed to fail? Who will voluntarily pay anywhere close to the amount already taxed on them? I sure as hell wouldn't, I'd donate, sure, but no more than the $40 odd per month I already give to various charity. How does a poor family ever pull themselves up from under the poverty line? If they never have money for a private education or private healthcare, how are they ever meant to progress in society? People need a helping hand sometimes, and there is no reason to write off somebody simply becasue they've fallen on hard times. I've been unemployed for around 4 months at a stage in my life. A company I worked for just before the stock crash in 2008(?) went bankrupt (they were a stock investment firm) and I was their IT Networking Tech. Took me another 4 months to find work after that, and I'm glad Centrelink was there to help me pay my rent, it kept me in a house, and if it wasn't there, I may have become homeless and a write-off to society. What about someone who breaks their arm defending themselves from an aggressor? What about someone who falls down the stairs? What about someone who cuts their finger off cooking dinner for their family? People need free or cheap healthcare. It's stupid to throw people under the bus for something like a broken arm. They need their arm fixed so they can go back to earning money and paying taxes. We don't want the workforce destroyed from such trivial injuries going untreated. Does it? Or does it drive innovation and cause a shift of focus? Will this lead to new jobs in engineering, as companies build new designs for old technologies? Companies now want to work on efficiency, not overall output. It's creating more jobs than it's destroying. I don't agree with some aspects of the carbon tax and the way it was implemented, but I do support a drive for innovation. Also, why should a company get to pollute the air simply because they want to produce a product? The carbon tax will affect my future business greatly, as I want to open my own brewery in a few years. The major by-product of fermentation is CO2, and I will pay huge tax on it unless I innovate. At the moment I've been talking with one of my engineering friends, and we're talking about designs for a compressor that I can fit on top of my fermentation vessels and trap the CO2 (so it's not released into the atmosphere) and I can then store it in tanks to use for force-carbing kegs or other vessels. Some other breweries are now looking at the same sort of idea, and are no longer needing to buy CO2 tanks for the task, as they built their own compressors and traps. Previously it was cheaper to buy CO2 tanks, but after the tax, it makes sense to trap your own CO2 by-product.

    What's on your mind?

Contemplating what beers I can knock out in time for Christmas. So far the list looks something like the following, I just hope I have enough time to condition them properly. * Gingerbread Brown Ale (made with real gingerbread!) * Spiced Pale Ale * Tea Leaf IPA * Bush Honey Red Ale I'll be making 4-packs as gifts for family and friends. Going to be a busy weekend as I'll likely need to knock off two beers this weekend, and two next weekend in order to have them done for Christmas. Anyone want to help me with the label design? I suck dangle-berries with design programs. So far I was thinking of just working with slight alterations and variations of my current stock label. http://i48.tinypic.com/5o5ojr.jpg. I usually put the beer name in the bottom right, but this label is my "empty canvas" as it were. If anyone has any ideas, or is willing to help me out, I'll courier a 4-pack to you when Christmas roles around ;)

Bloody immigrants coming over here and taking our jobs! If you actually enjoy fishing, why not look for work in fishing when you arrive? I image a quick trip down to the Fish Markets (of whatever city you settle in) at 5am or so would have you talking to a couple of dozen different ships, and fail that, you could get some work pretty quick with one of the wholesalers / mongers. I know Sydney Fish Markets are always pretty alive early morning with ships coming in and a lot of fresh catches being unloaded. Could be worth a look in if you're desperate for work when you arrive. That aside, unless you're super motivated for a career change, most employers will be able to see if you're serious about an apprenticeship or not, after all, most businesses would deal with more than a few each year. For that reason you should probably figure out exactly what you'd like to do before sending out applications. Before I decided I wanted to get into IT at Uni, I was tossing up a butchering apprenticeship. Don't ask me why, but it's always seemed like a rather cool job to have if you love meat :P.

You'd probably fit in down at the Cronulla Surf Club if you have your Bronze Medalion and / or IRB Licence. In all seriousness though, no, you normally don't need a formal qualification before starting an apprenticeship or trainee job as that's the entire point of the trainee / apprenticeship role. Why the change of scenery though? I thought you loved killing fish?

    New Home Theatre PC Build

Your motherboard is a much bigger factor is choosing a case than the Corsair H70 cooler is. Also, what socket is it? Where is the PC going to live? I'd personally look at building an ITX system if I wanted a media center, but you may also find networking is a superior option for you depending on your usage. Are you going to be recording TV? Or simply playing movies and video you've downloaded or ripped? If you're not actually using it to record TV, i'd simply just network up some HDD's and buy a PS3 or Xbox for streaming. It's what I do with ~10TB of storage and it works perfectly fine.

But is that a fair comparison? As abortion clinic workers don't kill babies either.

  21. What does someones salary have to do with their training on Policing the populace of a country? It's like saying the Packer family should be running the Police force because they pull in a squillion dollars a second. The Army should not be responsible for civilian matters within our own country, it's really very simple. Especially something as trivial as a 100-man protest.

I swapped to Telstra from Vodafail a few months back, just give them a call and tell them your old phone number, they should take care of the rest. Think it took around 24 hours for the successful transfer of my number.

You can keep hoping for that, but wherever told you that is full of it. Google has pulled iOS mobile support for all Google apps. Can one of you iOS6 users do me a favor and tell me if the App is still on the store? If it is, try to download and run it. Some people are saying it's still available on the store, but no longer works.
