Pendo Pad 7-Inch Win8 Atom Tablet

Are these still avalaible at coles? I've seen the Pendo Pad at other places like AusPost as well... I usually stay right away from Tech like this... But, what's the Android one like? I'm looking for a really cheap Android tab with a decent resolution that can connect to the PlayStore, basically only want it as a second screen for DashMeterPro on my Racing Sim Computer
  2. I ran an overclocked Gigabyte 7970 from an Antec High Current Gamer 620W PSU, on an X58-UD5 as well even, absolutely no worries at all for the last 18 months/couple of years.

    Show us your setup!

Nice stuff Bushi, Homemade wins. Just make sure you're prepared when that homemade rig morphs into a giant wooden conglomerate that takes up half a room such as mine has... What games you going to be playing with the wheel? Oh, and when you feel like using your wheel for some fun, [shameless plug] www.atomicsimracing.net [/shameless plug]

    File Servers & NAS

Hey guys, I finally got my Gen7 n54l up and running with FreeNAS in the last couple of weeks. Running 2 x 4TB WD Reds, in RaidZ (mirrored) at the moment. Got a 2GB dataset carved out for my media, and am going to carve out a couple more for Windows Backup and a Time Machine. But thinking I might buy 2 more 4TB Reds first. Just seems easier to get it filled up with drives beforehand, rather than dealing with any expansion issues down the track. Also, at the moment, I didn't buy any RAM for it when I got it, so I've just replaced the original 2GB stick with some old DDR3 sticks, so it's currently running with 4GB of RAM. I know 8GB is minimum spec for ZFS, so that will be an upgrade in the near future, but to be honest I have not had any performance issues so far. The main question I wanted to ask is about ECC RAM, is it especially critical to get ECC? From what I understand ECC RAM just prevents some read/write errors that may occur, excuse my very simple terminology, I'm not 100% up to speed with it obviously. :P Otherwise I'll just grab some standard DDR3 stuff and whack that in.

    Assetto Corsa

Nice mate, looking forward to seeing you around. Yeah we are mainly a F1 201x league at the moment, but that will change. Hopefully we will see you on track when the MP update is released. I keep checking this page and refreshing, to see what they update the game. There have been a few updates in the last little bit, but they are all hidden updates. As soon as that public one goes up, look out. :D http://steamdb.info/app/244210/#section_history

    Laser scanning race tracks

Even better, Laser Scanning for the rest of us! Using a webcam and a laptop. http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.ph...-scanning.3053/ No doubt Laser scanning is the bee knees and now that more sims are using it, to be a true sim in the future, this will be required for real life circuits & roads. If I'm playing a sim, then I want the full on experience, it's all about the immersion.

    My happy new job

Went to the shopping centre earlier today, felt compelled to drop into the Newsagents, then also felt compelled to pick up a copy of a magazine called 'PC Tech & Authority'. Weird, was almost like brainwashing or something.

    My happy new job

Wow, man, congratulations. This is brilliant for you, the team at NextMedia, and us as readers. Good to see you super excited about it too, as if you wouldn't be I guess. :D Looking forward to the next chapter fo' sho'!... :D I do enjoy my hard copy computer news! Bit off topic, very early days for you in 'charge', and just putting it out there, but any thoughts of merging PCPP and Atomic forums, and getting PC&TA involved and creating a Next Media Computer Print Media Forums Superbeast? Both forums are kind of shells of their former selves sadly... Sorry, back on track, enjoy the new job! :D

Post Your Latest Real Life Purchase!

Link me to store you bought it? PM me maybe?
  11. Cool mate, thanks. If I go through with the purchase I over/under clock the cards to be the same for sure. Would something like the Silverstone Strider 750W be a good choice? Has 2 x 8 pin and 2 x 6 pin connectors. Much appreciated.
  12. Hey guys, Looking at upping my graphics card count from 1 to 2. I currently have a Gigabyte 7970 (pre GHz editions) and was going to buy an XFX 280X to Crossfire with the 7970. I currently have an Antec 620W High Current Gamer PSU, which I think has all the appropriate cables and spots to run crossfire... but will the wattage be enough? It all would be going into the follwoing system: i7 920 with a Thermalright Ultra 120 cooler- Slightly OCd to 3.2Ghz - Want to get an all in one water loop to OC it further... Gigabyte X58 UD5 M/B 4GB of DDR3 - Need to upgrade this too, was triple channel 6GB but one stick died. Running triple 24" screens, hence why the single 7970 is only just cutting it for some games now... Thoughts? any other options that would be better for me to pursue? Thanks guys.

    File Servers & NAS

Thanks heaps mate. The $50 discount has finished, but even at $300 it seems like a good deal compared to a dedicated 4bay NAS device, plus would give me a bit more flexibility I guess, wherein I can load whatever OS onto it I please.
  14. Looks like that MB only has the 2 fan connectors on board, 1 for CPU fan and 1 for Chassis fan. So you'll need to grab an adapter cable like these: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...products_id=285 - To run from your PSU to fan http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...oducts_id=23470 - To run of the motherboard header to 2 fans. There are other options on PC Case Gear as well, so just grab what would suit best. But you may have already received some in with the various parts (motherboard, case, or CPU cooler, as part of the extras?)
