  1. Hello there, My desktop rig has been playing up for over a year now and it's really starting to get to me. It will randomly freeze and the only way to fix it is to do a hard restart (holding down the power button). My specifications: Intel i5 2500k stock Noctua NH-D14 CPU cooler 8GB Kingston HyperX EVGA GTX 560Ti DS Western Digital 1TB HDD Intel 160GB 330 SSD Coolermaster eXtreme 600watt PSU ASUS P8Z68-V Motherboard Coolermaster Storm Enforcer Tower About 18 months ago I was sure it was the RAM that was faulty so I took it into the shop to get it tested and surely enough it was faulty. While the RAM was sent back to the supplier to be tested and fixed I was able to take home some spare RAM they had in their shop. The freezing still occured. I have tried reinstalling the OS on only the HDD and the SSD and the random freeing still occurs. I have even taken my PC into a computer store called PB technoligies and they ran the rig under a stress test but could not find anything wrong. The only conclusion they came to was that the SSD might be slightly to full at 140GB which leaves only a few GBS of space left (red bar in my computer). I then tried removing some data from the SSD but it made no differance and the freezing still occured. I know it is not a heating problem because I have a great CPU cooler, the GPU has dual fans and the case has good cooling. I also keep Core Temp and MSI After Burner on to monitor the temperatures. Sometimes the freezing does not happen for a week even a month then other times it will freeze 3 times in one night. The freezing tends to happen more when playing games but it does still freeze on the desktop screen. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? It's finally got to the stage of driving me crazy and I don't care how much it costs me to get it fixed. If you need any more information or I have missed something let me know Cheers Brad

    Wall Mount for Samsung LED

Hello, I have a Samsung SyncMaster P2770FH that I would like to wall mount... How ever the monitor does not appear to have "wall mount" holes in it. Does anybody know how I could achieve this ? I was thinking of "shaping" a piece of wood/metal to fit the curved back of the monitor and from there drill 4 holes (then put a mount on that) (not sure how I would attach it... epoxy ?) Or if I could get hold of a wall mount that is " [ " that shape (literally) with a lip on each end. The monitor could then slide in. Here is a picture of the back : http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?um=1&hl...,r:10,s:0,i:111 Thanks in advance :) Brad

    Speakers and Headset

Hello all, I have some Logitech speakers and I also have a Logitech G35 Headset. I would like to have them both plugged in while still being able to use the headset and or speakers. So my question is am I able to have them both plugged in and easily switch between them (for example a simple program with 2 check boxes) ? I like to use the headset when I am playing games/voice chat, speakers I use when I play movies and music. Anyone know of a program I could use ? P.S Right now I have to unplug one or the other which is really annoying Thanks in advance Brad

  8. Hi all, just wondering if i could get some different opinions on getting an upgrade for my computer if you are interested please read on :) I bought a gaming computer about 3-4 months ago. My specs: -EVGA GTX 560 Ti DS -i5 2500k (2nd gen) -600w cooler master extreme -8gb 1600Mhz kingston RAM (x2 4gb) -ASUS P8Z68-V motherboard (as far as I know not gen 3) I have a budget of about $600.00 NZD maybe a little more depends on what you guys think/say Im not saying "right now" When should I upgrade? (wait for the Nvidia 600 series or buy a ASUS 7950 etc. etc.) Should I upgrade at all? What should I upgrade to? How long will the upgrade last? Should I wait and save up more money? Just these sorts of questions And any other advice P.S ArmA III looks sick and i would like to be able to play that on a decent setting Thanks Brad
