After last weeks race I been placed in short term D.P.C....( Dickhead Protective Custody). They are watching me so I cant be long... O M F G L M A O !!!!! Ploddy!!!!!...I swear that watching your race vid, SATAN himself had come down, donned in blood red gloves and flames of hatred and set about destroying the track!!! I had a little chuckle when you got the penalty. Then, the raw speed and anger after you served your penalty and blasted thru the pack. I'm sure Pessi shit himself to see the devil overtaking him at the chicane. I chuckled even more when you did the first wing and at the end of the pit exit I was in tears.... You sir are comedy GOLD!!!. Oh and the little Soj nudge you did?!? Amateur hour mate. AtomicF1 GP2 Season 3

Ahh it is good to see the Ploddy-Soj rivalry banter once again. QUALY: For most of the week I wasn't going to make the Germany race but when finding out Saturday night I slotted some practice in. A new practice schedule and strategy has helped find extra speed without the excessive hrs and hrs on track. Seeing there could be rain I went for a Prime-Option strategy and did my first banker then came in for new boots. Straight back out with a bit more fuel to get the extra lap and I was ready for 2 hot laps. Laid down the first which was my recorded time and began the 2nd which was quicker in the first sector. I think I muffed the hairpin or came up on someone as the result was slower than the one before. P4 was sniped from under me by Pestimus "always on primes" Prime and I knew I would have another race fearing his late charge madness. P5 and in the middle of the pack . = ( . I didn't like my chances surviving through turns 1...2.... or 4. RACE: The start was good and I saved all my kers. Come turn1 I cut the first corner nice and managed to kers blast past a Sauber. Pretty sure it was Pessi but all was pretty hazy. Made it through all the next turns without hassle. Very nice driving everyone. We definitely have all excelled in the clean driving area over last year! The first stint on primes was mainly me trying to force an error from Parsi. I could get close at turn6 after the hairpin and multiple times we were nearly side by side into the turn. His speed over the rest of the track on his options was way to fast and prevented me from seriously being a threat. Whilst Parsi and I played, Millen gained and before I knew it he was pillaging my rear wing. A few errors and he was past whilst Parsi had already made a small gap. I refocused on constant lap times and ignored race position. Thinking I would likely be fighting P5/6 with Pessi later on. I remember coming up behind the Plodster just as he exited the pits. Nabbed him on DRS but trying to shut him out of the hairpin I went in way to fast on the inside line and locked it up. He went thru and I tried to stay on his tail. I passed him again on Turn1 as he nearly completely back flipped whilst cutting Turn1. I laughed but knew he would be back instantly. He passed me on DRS shortly later. We caught up to Fredz + Millen and as usual...(Damn you Ploddy) he gets past Fredz immediately whilst I get stuck behind. I ruin the last corner backing back from Ploddy/Fredz and the gap increases. I'm pretty sure there is an unofficial agreement between those two! Now I start muffing everything up. I pass Fredz then give it back. Probably 4 to 5 laps of poor times and I start thinking maybe my tyres are already shot. An early pit stop is required. I focus on one or 2 quick laps before I plan to pit when I start smashing down my lap times consistently. I think Parsi has just pitted as I have caught up to him and yet Millen and (more importantly) Pessi are nowhere to be found. I push more quick laps on my old primes getting to around lap 23/24 maybe. Parsi is right in front so I know P3 is gone but E-T is 23+ seconds behind me. Sweet new Options and I can pull away again. Exit pits and Parsi is 16+ seconds ahead with E-T down to 2 seconds behind. One nice steady lap on cold tyres then I am away. Soj is posting fastest laps of low 1:18 / high 1:17 and I'm not far off so I'm happy with my pace. E_T has someone right on his tail and I'm hoping he can hold them up(Pessi/Millen) for as long as possible. I start making a gap with E_T of around 1-2 seconds per lap and start gaining on Parsi much the same. The laps and gap to Parsi continue to fall and come the 2nd last lap I think I made up 3 seconds on that lap alone. I've the gap down to 7 seconds on the last lap and know I've no more laps to catch him. Parsi must have been in "bring it home mode" as that 7 seconds came down to under 1 second on the final lap and I got to watch him snake it all over the home straight as he crossed the finish line celebrating P3. Great maiden effort mate! Congo to Ploddy with his consistent Podium efforts. If Jase and the Millster down pinch too many points then you and Soj will have a momentous battle! Hopefully I won't have to intervene with any kamikazee strategies. Just a warning friend hehehe... Welcome back GP2 Master Soj. Glad you didn't get too fat on holidays and can still fit into your cockpit. There is still a long season ahead and with Parsi showing great maiden race speed, the GP2 crown's just got even harder. To all, I am definitely not racing this wknd unless my course in Perth is cancelled. I leave Sunday arvo and return the following Saturday morning. Looks like I should start practicing SPA now. All the best and may Torro Rosso and Lotus drive like Grojean!

Nice pics gents. Too nice for a dull and uninspired race! Congo Plods on another solid win and sweet job by E_T and Pessi on the podiums. You guys did a great job at pinching some valuable Torro points. Practice/Qualy: Being sick all week still from the last race, I got my first practice stint in on Sunday. 4hrs of set-up and gearing runs with no last season set-up... Damn you STEAM cloud sync!! Glad to have Soj back real soon. The time wasted on re-learning a set-up could have been spent practicing damn Maggotts and Becketts or even Copse. I didn't manage a full fuel load test and this came to hurt me come race time. In the 5 lapper pre-races my 1-1-11-11-1-1ish setup was great but thinking of race trim I moved the wings just a little. I did my recorded qualy time banker on primes and my last final fast lap I was 1.2sec up until I binned it coming through Becketts. I Powered down to early and ended up losing the back end and reversing off the track. Lucky no-one was too close and I didn't ruin anyone's fast lap. I think Ploddy or Effing may have seen me in the scrub as they coasted by. Seeing the times and knowing I was roughly Pessi speed on the same tyre, I was pleased with P4? Race: Praying for a nice first corner bingle to elevate me up a little I think we all got round nicely. I sat in behind Pessi and waited for my tyres to heat up and have some fun. I don't think they ever did. I struggled behind Pessi for a few laps then got caught by Millen. Struggled behind him for a few laps then ended up cruising the rest of the race fairly lonesome. My Primes died by lap 9 and now thinking I should have 2 stopped on lap 8. I wouldn't have massively binned it coming out of Luffield with only 4ish seconds up on the master Mr Ploddy. 4seconds up went to about 5+ behind. I did shocking laps until the engineer recommended L16 came up for options. I didn't risk coming in any earlier as 10 laps on primes!!!, what would my options do? Straight away the options felt good. I went back to previous race lines and even though I could never get sector 2 or 3 right, the times dropped rapidly. I ended up 12 seconds behind Millen and brought the gap down to maybe 10ish seconds. I would have been hitting fastest laps but Millen kept getting them and then Pessi even grabbed a few. As soon as Ploddy hit that finish line I shut up shop and seriously coasted the last sectors. Even contemplating a pit stop finish or a Pit wall destroyed vehicle because I didn't want to drive a second longer. I nearly didn't hide my disgust at the weekends wasted efforts. I finished with +2 laps of fuel and a wee bit of disappointment though P5 and some good points. =) I think I am still on track to beat last season's points which is now my main goal. I do believe I've already used up all my DNF/DSQ's for the season already though haha! Till next week..May Soj have mercy on your souls. mwa-ha...ha.....ha!

@Soj Well ONE HD is showing qualifying this week. I can't remember if it's done that for the other races apart from "special event Aus GP" It is a small step in the right direction to mass coverage. I can do the 6pm/EST 8pm start this week. I'M still off crook *cough cough* so I should be home. Should be well enough to start practice tomorrow too. Another track I DNF/DSQ'd last season.

Millen, do not ever shorten or skip out on your race report!!! The read is too entertaining and the details help shape the race for which others do not see. Am currently in bed off from work still crook and now have no more to read. I might watch your entire race edit now =)

Great snaps Evo. It's not often that I get to frame an image of me beating Roguey Boy. WooHoo! Congo Rats again Jase. With yours and Millen's form I think the constructors is even out of Soj's grasp now. So watch out for his extra determination in wanting that Driver's Championship trophy once again! Aaah Pessi! Mate, you are too much the gentleman. Giving up 2 positions just to keep me company around the track. Bollywood should make a movie about it. Very much appreciated. Qualy: I knew with my limited practice I was going to be shite. So I was hoping for a small field and cheap points at the back. I managed an ok Prime time(disallowed due to a corner cut) and remembering my poor prime-to-option ability decided on fitting the options. I think I went out 4 times on the options as every fast lap into turn2 I was pillaging the wing. No, not those slight damage bingles either. Like full on "oh shit, turn left?, turn right? Smack bang. T-boning the center of the corner. On my last run as time was definitely running out, I Sunday drove around turn2 finally, finished the lap P5 and setting my only record-able time. I was a quite surprised of my position ahead of others on the start grid except for PESTI Prime. No doubt another prime first strategy. Race: Turn2 was going to be epic. I hate being in the demo derby midfield with these kind of corners. Remembering my 5lapper practice beforehand where I tapped Rogue, I was ready for an early brake entry. Just after the start right hander, I roll wide a little to make some room around me and see the 100m board for my early brake marker. E_T the absolute legend leaves this massive Boeing landing strip for me all the way into the corner and I have no fear of hitting anyone in front even if I get a tap from behind. I see the carnage as cars fly by on the left and re-enact my qualy efforts into the wall. I skip by what seems to be half the field, on the inside, gawking like I was driving past a 10 car pile up on the freeway. Wow, P3! That's something different! I follow behind Ploddy/Jase for just a little while until there raw speed leaves me dusted. Ok. Time to cruise, save the tyres and not DNF. It's not long and Millen fires past. I cant remember if it was the first stint or the 2nd time we meet that I fight back a little. I put in some late braking, stop-in-the-middle-of-the-road rudeness and his clean racing allowed my overtakes to not wipe us both out. Thank you for that sir! I make a few little slips and his roars off to chase the leaders. My main fear now that I was actually up in the good points was of the bastard Pessimist Prime catching me once again on his last lap options. I felt the fear early as he was catching me fast and I was still on solid options. I think I manage to hold out until I pit around L11/12? but I know he will be either already ahead or catching way to quick later on. I sit back and reside myself to a P5 finish if all goes well. Jase / Ploddy / Millen then Pesti. Come mid race, Ploddy is suddenly behind me. I crank my excess fuel up as I know Millen and Pessi will be coming soon. Ploddy leaves, Millen leaves and I await the coming battle. I use all my fuel and don't see him coming. Then I see Ploddy exit the pits in front of me. What luck! If I can grab onto his rear wing for like 5 laps then the DRS may keep Pessi away for longer. I try to stay close with Ploddy, maybe even getting close to an overtake once or twice. I was thinking if I don't stuff up, then I can do this for a few more laps!!! ENTER THE FREDZ. I see him coming out of pit lane and I'm too involved with Ploddy to be able to say anything over vent. I briefly see red when Ploddy gets the easy overtake and I meet Fredz right on the corner. He locks up a little into the middle of the corner but does an excellent job of not mashing the wall or me. I follow thru after him and - IT LOOKS TO ME - that he is trying to move over to let me pass. Right in the middle of the hardest twistiest stuff on the track. I try a quick shoot around in the tight corners but we run out of space and I lose the back end a little trying to dodge, just missing the walls. Fredz pulls over out the way once again but my stuff up has let my "Hitch a ride, Ambulance chase" get away. Thanks for the efforts Fredz, just unlucky timing... Now I'm waiting for Pessi. Previous efforts of trying to keep in front/behind of Ploddy , Jase and Millen have caused silly errors and I knew once the great finisher had caught up with me I wouldn't be able to fight him. Optimum fuel and Pessi getting closer and closer with only 3 or 4 laps to go. Pessi finally catches me near the 2nd last lap. He doesn't have his crazy " CULater Mother F** " speed on him and I think with one good clean lap before the DRS straight, I can possible hold him. We enter the last lap. The gap within a second and entering the infamous turn2 corner. I maybe brake a little early, hoping to offset his line... or was I just going slower so I didn't bin it myself? The tap , the wall, the WING!!! Pessi is devastated. Me, I don't know what to think...maybe auto pilot was on and I was just trying to get the car turned around back onto the track. I look up and Pessi is parked in the middle of the track doing his best Senna" Are you okay look " I swear he would have jumped out of that car if he could have. After a brief "You go, no you go" session I begin to finish my last lap. Pessi behind me like a mother whale helping her young calf swim(haha). Qualy actually saved my race here because I knew exactly where I had to start braking to make certain corners. All those busted wings really helped out! I see a new race marker come up on the mini map and I don't think I can make it. There were still some tough corners to go but maybe Pessi would get all defensive and slow them down....whilst doing about 90 km's an hour down a straight?!?!? I find out it's Rogue and he catches Pessi on turn21/22 and me on turn25... DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUNNNNNN!!!! Iv'e no way of making a fast line around the last corner so I park the BUS right up in the middle of the track. Limping around the corner and going wide trying to block the entire track.... THANK FUCK FOR FULL KERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mash the button all the way to the line watching Rogue's indicator arrow blaze beside me... I'm exhausted and elated. P4 out of nowhere. Thanks Pessi for the dramatic run to the line and a special thanks for everyone who bumped, tapped and held up Rogue! =) Annnndddd, just to make it more awesome.... I briefly lost internet connection just after we exited whilst chatting in vent... You wouldn't believe it! LOVE THIS GAME!!!

Great reads people... Excellent work Jase mate. Finally a well deserved victory. Race report Disappointment and Shame. I did a couple of hrs of practise during the week. consistent 1:13s in time trial with a perfect lap of 1:12s really close. my offline times were consistent low 1:15 prime qualy times with mistakes and clean laps on options nearly had 1:13s so confidence of matching race pace was high. I completed a few full fuel runs and races and times starting at 1:17s and lower had me smiling and happy that enough testing had been done...I have lost all my set ups from last season but thought I had found enough. Then the dreaded rush home from work race prep ruined what could have been a rewarding night for me. I did my qualy time on primes and managed a start grid of P4. This I was happy with as all my option runs were ruined by completely not knowing my lines into Turn 9/10. I was losing a good second and spinning the back end. I was glad to pip Pessi in Qualy on the primes as he is always hunting me down on his late race options and to be POTENTIALLY an incey wincey bit faster and on the same strategy might turn things around. I don't' even know why I decided to hold off any non-perfect option runs to be on the prime strategy. You need to be a clean, consistent and a good overtaker to make up positions late race and a few small mistakes will ruin better positions. Come the start of the race, I do the usual cautious corner entries. I lose a few positions I think but make up some with people running off track etc. I felt a lot faster than whoever was in front of me but inconsistent lines and small mistakes had them close then out of reach. By the time the SC was out which I think ruined my prime strategy, I had lost my early week "gonna be a good race" vibe. Whilst behind the Safety car traffic, WINDOWS popped up a warning window which ghosted me. Thankfully I didn't DcD or stuff Pessi up too much who was right behind. Whilst I was rushing to close the window and be "reborn" from ghost mode, I kicked my pedals out from under me( I don't have them bolted down as I have them severely to one side to stop my Left leg rubbing, cramping, sweating on my wheel stand pro) so I spend the remainder of the SC and some of the restart trying to realign and get comfy again. My restart was the end of my race, the primes were D.E.D (dead) and cold so mistakes happened which killed the tyres more. I was up in P3 then down to P6 within 5 laps I think? I struggled to the first pit and jumped onto the options. I set two fastest laps as I chased down Pessi then I ran out of extra mid race fuel. I switch to standard and Pessi disappears as he set fastest laps. I pit once again to options crank up the fuel .and begin chasing down Effing. Lap after lap the gap closes and I see him just in front exiting turn1 and I think I have him this lap. I end up losing the back end on turn1/2?? and have to donut it back on track..Race over I do remember a few brief battles with others which my mistakes cost me but my race was mainly me alone going fast, then slow, then fast, then sideways. A missed opportunity for sure... Oh well, next race, no work and more practise time... I do like to practise =)
