Water Cooling 1 or 2 loops

2 Months later and I still haven't finished this build... man I've been lazy =( considering I'm excited to play about 8 games at the moment lol. So Ii decided to scrap cooling the chipset and RAM and just LC the CPU and GPUs. having trouble deciding on the loop and utilising everything. Wanting 1 loop but using 2 radiators, 2 reservoirs and 2 pumps... Is the following correct? PUMP 1 > CPU > RAD 1 > RES > PUMP 2 > GPU > RAD 2 > RES > PUMP 1 the reservoirs are stacked so 1 under the other... or should I just go: PUMP 1 > CPU > RAD 1 > RES > RES > PUMP2 > GPU > RAD 2 > PUMP 1 Since I originally got 2 reservoirs for a dual loop system but still want to keep them for the look and to fill up 2 bays being a Danger Den case... Thoughts / help =)

    waterblocks won't fit, help?

I just went to send them back with the same company that delivered them (DHL) and they wanted $295 to send them back! =O guess I'll ebay them

    waterblocks won't fit, help?

Correct. Sounds good, it's a pretty long card, as long as my rampage iv extreme is wide. I'll just have to find a way to mount a fan like you said :-) So can I still use the backplate without the waterblock?

    waterblocks won't fit, help?

So the vrm? Should be fine with just it's separate heatsink back on it? It's only about 6-8mm tall and wasn't connected to the main heatsink. Ill try upload a pic

    waterblocks won't fit, help?

Na it's all one piece :-( but there is a small separate heatsink that goes over the parts on thr right over that biggest rectangle piece. Another newb question, can I keep and use the backplates without the full cover waterblocks? Thanks again Dasa :-)
  6. Hey guys, So I have x2 Gigabyte GTX 670 OC 4GB cards and I just got my waterblocks for them from EK only to find they won't fit... after being told their compatible... Turns out EK have used the 2GB 680 as reference for 'compatibility' when the 4gb version actually differs (2 capacitors and 2 chips moved left a few mm and 4 random caps on the pcb. (see pic)) So from what I can tell and find about this there is no waterblock on the market that will fit due to the capacitors...? My question is, could I just use one of the universal type GPU blocks and glue heatsinks on the rest of the chips around the GPU etc? I know I could go back to the stock setup but I'd really like liquid to fill my massive case, plus I've already got the rads, fittings etc... Any Suggestions? =) Pics below EK's compatability check pic (2gb card) My card and EK block
  7. Hi guys, quick question, building a new rig at the moment. My Rampage IV Extreme has an additional 4pin EATX12V connector and an 8 pin one both above the cpu. The manuel states to be sure to connect either but doesnt tell me for what situation / setup each is for or if I need to use both... It's been 7 years since my last build so it's new to me. I do plan to OC and core components are: Rampage iv mobo 3930k 32gb ram x2 670gtx 4gb cards Corsair AX1200i Digital So my question is which do I connect or do I connect both? Thanks in advance :-)

    Triple 27" monitor Overkill?

Not too fussed for resolution, just want it to be nice and crisp, price I'm not sure, I could spend up to $450ish each or more, just means part of another weeks wage =P but cheaper would be cool. I just keep thinking that 27" is a bit much as I've never seen a triple 27" setup in person, only a 23" one. and definitely for gaming Dasa
  10. Hey guys, quick question. I'm having trouble deciding between 27" and 24" for a triple monitor setup. 27" sounds tempting but at the same time I'm thinking it's a bit overkill... I do have a big desk though 1m from front to back and pretty wide and I can modify it as I built it. At the moment I'm sitting on a 19" and I have spent the last 5 years gaming on a 32" which was at a nice distance in my cockpit / desk that I no longer have. Thoughts?

Water Cooling 1 or 2 loops

Awesome, thanks for the advice guys =) I was looking at doing the chipset / ram as well for the looks and might do some overclocking, but will see how I go I guess

Water Cooling 1 or 2 loops

I would go for ATI cards... But I'm wanting to try out nVidia's 3D vision =P and I've already got the MoBo =(

Maximus IV extreme quad channel RAM haven't decided on cards yet, either ASUS or Gigabyte 670s Looking at EK blocks
  14. Hey guys, So I have an extended Danger Den Double Wide case and I'm looking into water cooling for it. It's a massive case so I'm sort of wanting to make it look neat but at the same time I don't wanting it looking empty The case has room for x2 360 radiators in both sides of the front and a 480 in the back on the right side. I think I'm wanting to keep as much LC stuff on one side as I can. Anywho my actual question is 1 or 2 loops? it's a big system and I know it's overkill but I'm wanting blocks on the CPU, RAM (quad channel) and chipset as well as the 2 video cards So I'm not sure if with the size and height of the case (685mm high) and the parts in it if I should go 1 or 2 loops. I'll be using Swiftech MCP35X2 Dual Motor pump/s Cheers.

    New Rig Build (HELP) =)

So i would only need 1 of that swiftech pump because its a dual pump?
