    What's on your mind?

Lie down to do some reading at 6:30. Wake up from accidental sleep at 11:30. Dammit.

Okay, now Twitter has just gotten wierd..

What you're looking at is the future of warfare. If WWIII breaks out in our lifetimes, expect a social media propaganda campaign of epic proportions.

    Your fondest Atomic memories

Hahaha. I always wondered when EMI made the transition from Satanist ultraconservative to flamboyantly gay wit.

    What's on your mind?

What to wear to my ten-year reunion. Thinking stylish and snappy, but not up-myself or generally looking like a clown. Apparently it makes a big statement about the person you've become.

Trying to figure out if beatshoes' name meant 'beat shoes' or 'beats hoes'.

    What's on your mind?

I see all of the comments from those dickwits that keep ranting that helmets are unnecessary and just another revenue raiser for the government with fines. Agree whole heartedly with their attempts to change the legislation requiring them to have helmets... so long as they all sign an agreement that when they crash and die they get no tax payer funded medical treatment. I never understood the resistance to it in this day and age. Surely grown adults aren't still pulling the 'but I look like a doooooork!' argument...

    What's on your mind?

Ideas for my speculative fiction project. And wishes that my time could record said ideas rather than me having to commit them to paper.

    How many partners?

I don't, but like I said I did use to get a bit of flak from a couple of my peers for having a low number of partners so I guess they thought differently.

    How many partners?

It makes a refreshing change from the religion and political threads if nothing else :D

    How many partners?

Just the one (I'm 27 and lost my v's pretty late at 23). That one was a relationship. I used to get a bit of flack for not having random promiscuous sex all over the joint (apparently it's considered a deficiency in some circles), and sure, the idea of it is fun at times but ultimately I just don't think I'm that kind of person. There's been one offer since that I wouldn't have turned down if it was now, but she was involved at the time and my moral compass just doesn't allow for that. I imagine it won't happen again until my next real relationship. For some reason, I'm just not into it if it's not got some kind of meaning to it (whether that be in the confines or a relationship or something similar. That means my tally'll probably be pretty low by the end of my life, but you know something, as far as life goes the number of partners I've had is pretty low down the list of priorities. I honestly don't know why it's considered so important to some.

    Your fondest Atomic memories

My Road to Atomic Live 2007 tour was a really fond memory of mine. Basically did a whole trip to explore Melbourne and Sydney and really got out to see the world, met a whole bunch of atomicans who I'd been itching to meet for ages, and attended one of the major atomic events of the year. I'll have to go back over east again sometime when things aren't so hectic, cause that was fun. On the forums, spyx's thread about the girl at the video store, that one was an absolute classic!

    What of Atomic?

Have to admit, I thought my reaction to this news would be to gloat given my relationship with atomic and its community ended on a very sour note. But oddly, it's not. Guess I've still got a bit of a sentimental spot for what atomic and its community was to me from when I first joined up at 16 through my early years as a young adult. I made a lot of friends (and yes, even a few enemies) here, had some great chats and insightful discussions, and heck I even got to exploring the rest of Australia through events like atomic Live and m33t. My housemate for the past two years up to a month ago was an atomican. I went to the casino out with Perth atomicans last weekend and to the pub the next day. It's pretty profound how the magazine has laid the slab for a lot of people's personal lives. I'd be lying if I said I didn't see this coming. The past 18 months in particular, you could kind of see everything slow to a halt. The forums became a bit of a Wild West, which I think sort of reflected the lack of... energy, I guess?... down at atomic HQ. I know it's the magazine that's going down, but let's face it, this time next year there won't be anybody here, the last real common factor holding the place together has dissolved. I won't lie, I disagreed severely with the way things were going over the past two or three years and I still do, but I guess in spite of it all I will fondly remember the positive parts atomic had to play in my formative years and I do thank you all for that. For what it's worth, I bid you all a fond farewell. Those of you who I quarrelled with, I was angry at you for a long time, but I have more or less buried the hatchet now. Those who I always liked on here, come find me on FB - the PAC can point you to me. Those I already know, see you in the world. -the artist formerly known as The Manta
