    What of Atomic?

If there was ever proof that this forum is worth saving, it's that I can log on here for the first time in fucking YEARS, and recognise half the names in this thread. Atomic never was just a magazine, and I'm sure the community will live on for some time yet.

    What's happened to this place?

Nice troll, Nich... but it doesn't work if you have to actually send me the link to see it in the first place :P For the record, no, I'm not working on AmigaOS. :)
  5. It was the 'bits between the legs' comment that got you, wasn't it? :P Pretty much why I posted it in the first place. I should have remembered the tendency for things to get blown completely out of proportion here though... :P
  6. Hardly. :P But I will say this: It's not like this is a bunch of condescending guys organising it so that they can feel good about themselves - the courses are organised by women, for women. Pamela Fox is pretty damn smart, regardless of the bits between her legs, so if she's taking the time to organise something like this, then good on her, obviously she thinks there's a need for it. If you think she's misguided, why not take it up with her? @pamelafox on twitter. The fact that people have registered to attend signifies that there is at least some level of demand, so debating about to whom it appeals is kinda irrelevant, as it appeals to someone. :)

Whats it like living in Singapore?

WTF is up with that? If they want to send you to work in Singapore, they should be sponsoring your visa, surely?

Does an Australian pay income tax to Singapore, Australia, or god forbid, both? (Or, if it's both, the Singaporean tax is surely a tax deduction to the ATO) Rob. I dunno, since I haven't done this myself, but from my recollection, if you're classified as being resident in AU for the tax year, you have to pay tax in AU, but provided there is a tax treaty in place, you get to deduct taxes you pay in singapore. Because Vanne is looking at going for multiple years, there is likely to be some years he'll be classified as being wholly resident in Singapore. Depending what time of year he goes/returns will dictate whether he is a resident in AU for tax purposes or not during that year...

That's hilarious, as I just finished chomping down a bacon and egg sandwich here in Singapore. McDonalds, KFC and Burger King all do not have bacon, however. They are Halal certified. There are plenty of fine places to get bacon, the Chinese love pork. Apparently, there is such a think as Halal Bacon... it just ain't made of pigs :)

I'd say ask Ni as he's done Singapore and KL for a few years now, but he's around here even less than I am these days... :D
  11. Again, it's a joke... I promise, I'm not raging around my office, hulk-smashing stuff! :)
  12. Excuse me? That's a bit rich - there's been plenty of times I've taken the high road around here, I don't need a lecture from you about it. I'm a Mod, it's my job. I could have been a dick about it, but I didn't. I know there's been a billion times you've taken the higher road, this was a time that you probably should have followed that trend. But moving on. So you retract the "I'm not sure if you'd take that advice" bit? Thanks. :) Judging from your response, I can safely say I was correct. FFS, it's a joke! See, I even put one of those emoti-thingoes on it! sheesh! Kids these days...
  13. Oh look, this road goes down, this one goes up... I know which one I'm following... See you all again in a few months!

  15. Oh, so that's where I've gone wrong is it? Thanks for showing me the Atomic way to deliver personal insults while relying on a semantic argument as to why it's not actually an attack. I bow before your superior knowledge... truly my troll-fu is meek compared to yours, twinair.
