What Did You Watch Lately ?

Gawd what a complete and utter drongo. Did she think she could somehow ride up the bridge and leap the gap? Hopefully she never gets the chance to pass on that stupid gene.

a nice soak in a bath?

One of my cousins had that problem so he fixed it by buying one of those enormous special hospital type baths. Huge thing that uses a shitload of water but he likes it because he can lay at full stretch in it. His hot water comes from a wetback wood stove so no huge power bill whenever he uses it.

Where does everybody live these days?

Same, but not intending to move anywhere else, too bloody hot on the North Island. A mate lives there who used to post on here a long time ago. http://forums.atomicmpc.com.au/index.php/user/19792-wacus/ Moved there from Tassie some years ago. Seems to like it there last time I talked with him. Esperance seems to have grown a tad since I was through there in about 1979. :-P Had some nice weekends out at Cape Le Grande and Cape Arid national parks. God dammit there's even a cafe at Lucky Bay!

how crap is this government ?

Nah not really, the support infrastructure to maintain an aircraft carrier is enormous, and to be effective it needs a shitload of defence and support craft. Just too vulnerable without it all. And one carrier is not a lot of use except against a poorly armed opponent.

how crap is this government ?

Ye saw that on the ABC TV news. Idiot Defence Minister Marise Payne carrying on about how 9 boats would make us a major player in the SW Pacific or some such crap. Jeezuz wept it was embarrassing.

What Did You Watch Lately ?

Been watching a few superb youtube vids on Ambuchannel 112 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAM-cN-N35LuEl-Z1zW5A_A This one just now driving in the pouring rain, and then some. It's a Dutch channel so turn CC on. One thing that gets me is how good the Dutch drivers are in general about getting out of the way of the Ambulance.

When will be the next World War?

I would be more worried about India and Pakistan lobbing a few nukes at each other, or some sort of combined Arab offensive trying to take out Israel who may just fire off a few retaliatory nukes if there was no chance of survival. Whether either would expand in to a full world war I couldn't say.

NBN - Is it too expensive?

Nope you don't. Anyone with half a brain would have known the MTM was going to be a complete poo sandwich and stayed well away from it. But these people took the management jobs anyway. Fuck em they will get zero sympathy from me.

NBN - Is it too expensive?

FTTN? Several minutes at least and depending on modem chipset and line condition can be out to 10 minutes or so from a couple of comments on Whirlpool. You also really need to get rid of all extra phone points and have one continuous line from where the line enters the building to where the phone socket is (preferably Cat5e). The less joints the better. Apart from potentially improving line sync it makes it easier to get faults fixed. If you have old internal wiring and/or multiple phone points NBN will claim that is the cause of any line problems. Getting them to admit the fault is on their copper is apparently quite difficult. At least that is the impression I and others are getting from complaints on Whirlpool.
