    controversy

I've come to realise there are free agents in this world. People who do not think, feel, react, or live the way I do. Because my collective life story up until this point will never ever be the same as anyone else's. That is the one thing any of us have that will actually make us unique. Objectively, it's rarely, ever, fair. Relative to someone else. I like free agents who stray so far off the popular narrative. It actually makes me think. Why am I offended? Why am I so dismissive of their ideas yet they seem to make me angry? Is it because they're wrong? Or because despite the lack of anything factual to their ranting they hit on a much broader truth? A truth, and idea that I just don't like or want to accept. Ideas shouldn't offend us so, they should give us cause to think. Idea's shouldn't make us angry, they should give us the opportunity to discuss their merits and short falls, without fear that the mere discussing them will destroy our way of life. They are just ideas, concepts, many of which go no where and amount to nothing. Text that will die the archives of some long forgotten internet forum, never to be sort after again. The only thing that makes an idea dangerous, is convincing people they are or are not. It's that enough people listened and accept. Because people are lazy and don't want to think too much. We like our ideas to be simple, make sense, and just... handed to us. Whether you like it or not, that's been fed to you since birth, regardless of when or where you grew up, that narrative of ideas has been given to you, a lot of which will have been accepted without question. Some ideas, are truly embedded, right, or wrong, they are simply part of who you are. Don't ever trust a person preaching ideas that won't listen to or denounces other ideas. Because those cunts are the worst.

Sitting on a train using free WiFi while absolutely fanging it to Baltimore from NYC. Yu know, we give the septics a lot of shit, and most of the time they deserve it. But fuck me if they don't do a lot of things a shit tone better than we ever will. One of them is free WiFi, everywhere, for like, no reason.

how crap is this government ?

If my single vote represented the entire Australian electorate, they wouldn't be there. But it doesn't. I get one vote, for one person, in my one seat.

They really do live in another universe away from everything. I haven't met a single person in the real world who has anything good to say about the current government, or shorten for that matter. Even a Victorian Liberal party member who is staffer for an MP said that Abbot and his crew have damaged the Liberal brand that badly that they've decided to go their own way entirely and publicly NOT support the federal government. And business is just as sick of them because there's no workable policy coming through that creates any kind of certainty. Would be awesome if the GG could step in and desolve parliment entirely, start again with fresh people and ideas. I almost feel as though the career politician has to go. Serve two or three terms and then you're out.

The part about that that hurts is we have 20 exceptionally good devs in our company, but because of the way the company is structured and because of the way the project was handled, no one ever thought to engage their help. Meanwhile, the pultry 10 or so servers that I do manage require my manual time and effort to do any proactive maintenance and keep a close eye any trending metrics that might be a concern. My biggest issue with your platform was it really isn't user friendly or straight forward, at all, you have to take a lot of time to sit down and learn it. The devil we know, doesn't, it's pretty easy to pick up, it's just limited, and support is shit. But the core of what we do use it for it does exceptionally well. I guess we just need to see what else is out there and not cock it up this time. As with many things, there was a lot of politics involved and the right people weren't involved. How's business going for you in the Berra any how?

Hey mate, My advise on the new product, approach with extreme caution, turn EVERYTHING off, and turn on only what you need. The agents are a cunt to remove, and if you bugger up the policies this thing will kill SQL servers. It's patch management.... it needs a lot of work. We sticking with the devil we know for now, but we're looking at a few other products, one shows a bit more promise. But we're having trouble trying to get management to figure out what the fuck they actually want out of it. But so it goes.

I sometimes get this weird feeling we passed the event horizon, Those on the outside just see us stuck in time We have no idea it's happened at all, Just the slow daunting realization that no matter what direction we try to go in, we'll always be facing in the one we don't want.

To be fair, I don't think the federal government had any idea this monumental fuck up was going to unfold. But it points to a rather distressing culture within the Boarder Force agency. How anyone thought that was an appropriate press release is fucking beyond me. Unfortunately for Abbot, this latest blunder may not have been his fault, but it sure as fuck is his responsibility. It's just going to be seen as another example that this federal government doesn't seem to care too much about what the current laws actual are, or the judicial process that upholds them.

Given the how unexpectedly our lives are already in twain, I wouldn't be surprised if I already work for one of these friends :P I'm actually pretty happy where I am. I'd love to knock out MSCA and Azure before I'm ready to move on, and even then, there's so much experience I can gain where I am. But I'll see how I'm going at the end of the year. How is your world going man? Any luck with Lab Tech? I think we're going to ditch it and keep looking for an alternative to Kaseya. Kaseya has dropped support for a few of the key things we used. I'll be sitting in on a tech demo of Labtech next week. No decisions made, but our hand is getting forced. If you start using an alt to labtech/Kaseya would love to hear about it though. AD We have officially dumped LabTech, she gone. Oddly enough, we're going to trail Kaseya 9.

Sounds like he got his comeuppance then. If you were a software dev I'd suggest Atlassian, they're hiring like crazy. Atlassian make some awesome shit. I'm in infrastructure and sysops support myself and we use Confluence for a lot. The other half of the company is devops, and they use a lot of the other fancy Atlassian products.

What industry are you in? IT Thing is, in Victoria there are pretty strict laws that make an employer criminally negligent for work place bullying. The other thing is, this dude was on his last warning for his behaviour.

Swings and roundabouts. Didn't get the role I was going for. No less than an hour two of finding out, another position may have unexpectedly turned up. Word to any who works in a work place, calling a co-worker a "Condescending little fuckwit" career limiting move.
