Always wondered what a VPN could do for gaming and it turns out that there are no longer lengthy queue times and i can connect to my favorite server. Im using purevpn myself and they currently have an 88% off for blackfriday. Its worth a try.

  3. Hello strangers, long time, no chat! ? FYI, there is a tech conference in Sydney next week on gaming, robotics, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. I thought there would be many Atomicans out there who would find this stuff super interesting, so i'm sharing the details. Gaming community in 2018 versus 1996?

How does the gaming community in 2018 compare to the old days of LAN parties and dial-up Internet? We have Steam and fast connections at home, I do not even need a game store, I have Steam shop and reviews to go by, So I am not meeting up with other gamers at all, unless in an online game. That is how it seems to work these days, But how has this affected gaming overall? Is this a good evolution of the gaming scene? It seems in many games that players are only for themselves and do not care about others, even ignoring team mates and blowing everything up without warning people nearby. Will we ever see such a massive online cooperative battle like this again? https://www.kotaku.com.au/2016/08/the-surprising-and-allegedly-impossible-death-of-everquests-unkillable-dragon/ This was an epic battle against a monster believed to be invincible. And all players cooperated together to kill him. Modern games have heroes locked behind paywalls, that is really lame. https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/7cff0b/seriously_i_paid_80_to_have_vader_locked/dppum98/ No wonder that they are roasted.
  5. Hi guys, I've always been a fan of this forum, it's been over a decade since I last made a post. It's great to be back. I'm writing with the hope I can get some solid advice on upgrading my PC of a few years back to give me another few years. Here are my current specifications (About 3 year old PC): CPU: Intel Pentium ® CPU G3258 @ 3.2GHZ Ram: 8gb ram Video card: Geforce GTX 560 Ti Motherboard: Asus Z97-K SSD: Plextor PX-128M6S (120gb) HDD: WD Black 2tb I would like to avoid having to buy a brand new motherboard. Therefore priority would be a CPU (compatible with this mobo) and a GPU to achieve smooth 4k gaming performance on games such as Witcher 3, GTAV, Star Craft 2 and Destiny 2. My budget is flexible, but let's say $1000-1200 AUD. To save on budget and time, I want to avoid changing the case and mobo. Thanks and really appreciate the advice. Cheers, Waj

    Tell me about your gaming!

So, newbie here, from the land of Angry Birds and late Nokia, currently doing Psychology Master’s Thesis on game playing preferences. Hah. I have an online survey which contains questions like why do you play, how much, what type of games e.g. It might seem a bit boring at first but you'll get the hang of it! It takes about 15 minutes. Here's the link: https://www.webropolsurveys.com/S/D5F22C5C1626F81D.par (webropol is a commonly used survey site, google it!)

Hey! I have recently been play assassins creed black flag but am annoyed at how long it takes to sail anywhere in the world and how hard it is to collect money and resources to upgrade the Jackdaw (at least for me anyways :P)... Do you guys have any ideas on how to make the sailing, getting money/resources, discovering locations, and taking forts to uncover more of the map more "fun" or "better", I am fine with running around nassau and getting the chests and viewpoints, but the assassin contracts so far have all required me to sail to other islands (excluding the first 2 I did) which is not fun. Any ideas?
  9. Hi folks, Been out of the computer building game a while and thought I'd double check a few things before i drop alot of savings on a new machine! Primarily I'd like it to be quiet, have as many future proof parts as possible and be able to run 2x 4k screens. I'm adding $1078 to the build for 2x Samsung 28" as I need to upgrade my screen setup and don't want to drop back to a single monitor. Any suggestions, improvements or even votes for which system is better value would be much appreciated.
