And What Are You Listening To?

Recommended Posts

This came up in suggestions a few days ago.

If you're going to do a cover of Space Oddity then don't bother with special effects, just shoot it from space.

It's a bit "nasal" - in an interview that can be viewed elsewhere he states that's the normal state of affairs in orbit, your sinuses don't drain themselves so just clog up.

This was done about 4 years ago - apparently David Bowie liked it a lot and sent congratulations.

theme tune from the homoerotic masterpiece "top gun" ?

oops, sorry, that was an officer andf a gentleman wasn't it

"fly me to the danger zone" was top gun i think - appropriate for an 80's movie about boy love

:)

Never really thought of either of them that way, but see where you are coming from :)

Only a few years ago I was flying an F-4 (actually, it must be more than a few years ago now I think of it, time flies ;) ) my REO suddenly finds a copy of "Highway to the Danger Zone" and sets it playing over the intercom - pilots do that rather a lot actually - not sure he was THAT amused when I used it as the perfect excuse to go skim some ridges :)

Actually I'm trying to recall where that was - Nevada I think :)

Cheers

Many small time bands try to cover this song live and most murder it. So, just avoid dissapointment and get the real guy to sing it:

As a fan of both Led Zep and Amy Lee, I heartily approve.

I don't think I'd heard of her before, but that was most impressive!

Aha! Never got much into them

TBH, I can kinda sympathise. I really love a few of their tunes - sometimes. Amy herself seems to be delightful and very talented lady, otoh.

/Kicks self that I could have more than once travelled all of about 10km to see them live.

I guess this is part of a BluRay, might have to seek it out. Amazing performance by the band and crowd. Well worth a look at the acdcVEVO channel especially for the live songs at River Plate.

If you've got a spare 19 minutes check out Jailbreak at live at Donington... Angus doing guitar solo with some drum accompanyment for about 2/3rds of the duration.
