What if Britney Spears "Toxic" was recorded in the '60s instead?

Check that dude's finger picking!  I consider myself to be doing well to write legibly.  (Mind you, that seems to be a dying art anyway.)

Unsure if this one has been put up before - not too bad:

This probably became more famous when used somewhere else a few years later - can you guess what it is?

Don't post your answer - just post the time index of when you realised it (most will probably not get it).

[Youtube: Assault on Precinct 13 (Main Title)]

i looked it up, but all i see is a rave song from the 90s.

if you like this type of thing you might enjoy the Tron Legacy soundtrack.  not nearly as sparse or dark as Carpenter, but with electronic instrumentation and a vibe that harks back to 80s films.  every time i hear the Stranger Things theme it reminds me of it.

OK, it's been 3 weeks so spoiler below.

A near identical version was used as the soundtrack for Xenon 2, a Bitmap Brothers shooter released on Amiga and Atari ST (and later ported to consoles) in 1989.

Had the urge (to hear the song, not indulge in the subject matter).  Great band.

You know when you get a song in your head that you've heard a million times but can't remember the name or artist?

Had that today... but then the thought occurred, I was just about sure I'd heard it in a Tarantino movie or two.

So, check the soundtracks from Resevoir Dogs onward, and a few minutes later, found it.

Normally I'll run a mile from modern pop/dance type music.

But I'm right into this.  Guess I'll have to check out some of her other work.

Though that said, I'm right into What You Waitin' for by Gwen Stefani and buggered if I can find anything else from her that I like.
