And What Are You Listening To?

Recommended Posts

@LogicprObe I had another CD of theirs for a while, but it was gifted (CD-r) and named incorrectly so I never knew who they really were, and with a name including 'County' i thought they were yanks! 😄

i looked it up, but all i see is a rave song from the 90s.

Rave?

I think you spelled rape wrong.

The Turks seem to think it's a great rape scene sound track.

Edit: Some youtube comments...Yo, Turkey...what the fuck?

there is one famous actor (Nuri Alco). In his movies from the 80s he
played mostly a rapist (Or a bad guy at all). But not that dirty
rapist guy you know from other movies. He is good-looking and acts
very friendly and respectful. He drugs them girls drinks, mostly the
famous turkish drink "Gazoz" and then he rape them. Mostly to this
piece of music. His nickname is "The Gazoz-Man". It became a running
gag til today: When this guy is invited to a talk-show run by a female
host, he gives them a glass of drink and suddenly she passes out (just
acting). Nuro Alco has also a friend, who is nicknamed as "Rapist
Coskun" by the public. He was the exact opposite in the movies. A
dirty, ugly man who just grabbed the girls and raped them directly and
had a really dirty, sexual humour. Today both of them mostly retired
from movie business and Coskun runs a pub in Bodrum, Turkey, together
with his wife and three daughters. I was there some years ago and met
him. He's a nice and funny guy but he also has this dirty humor which
people know from the movies.

Also, this music is used by teenagers as a joke. For example, my
cousin in turkey changed his friends ringtone to this and called him
in class and the teacher was a woman. He got thrown out of the class
and got really embarassed.

Imagine that being your acting legacy.
Being knows as the bloke "who mostly played a rapist."

Moral of the story - Kevin Spacey is Turkish.

China or Taiwan, they seem to do releases of hi res disks.

This one appears to be multi layer CD/HDCD/DSD, my player is based on the Philips TDA1514A but with the oversampling chip removed and reclocked, so I just get the CD layer, but it sounds great still.

I'm not a devotee of hi res formats, but most people have taken them up.

I picked that up in an op shop still sealed.

Edit: oddly enough this was released on Electra, but this copy is on the Universal label.........very confusing.
