And What Are You Listening To?

try an album cover like that these days at your considerable peril

looks like the artist was a robert crumb fan (or robert crumb)

I saw KB play that track at the Collaroy RSL a couple of years back and for all the slide on that track he played it near note perfect as a three piece band.

Impressive.

I was listening to some music clips whilst doing other things, and this one grabbed my attention like a fish hook.  All I have to say is "WOW!"  Do yourself a favour and listen to the track first, or you may be misled into liking just because Daria here is white hot.

I've looked at more of their catalogue and not seen any misses yet - only degrees of success.

[edit] Yup, a few more samples, and I stand by that statement.  Pretty incredible versatility, too.

[further edit] More samples, more impressed.  I took off the specific recommendations because the whole lot is exceptional.

Would have had to be recent - the clip is only a couple of years old.

Watching a few vocal coaches recently, there appears to be a right and a wrong way to do it. I'm not cluey enough about music to tell by listening, but since you can develop nodules within months and she's been at it for years... I dunno - maybe she takes a long time off between.

I've heard a vocal coach  in the 90s saying Mike Patton's voice wouldn't hold out but he's as good as ever 30 years later.

Probably inspired Animal in The Muppets.

This bloke's pretty good (skip to 2 minutes for start of song) - note that if Bon Scott was still around he'd probably be a little bit older than him.

He could just about be on the next tour. His voice doesn't seem to match the look of him at all.

After a few ordinary albums, The Razor's Edge saw AC/DC firmly back on track in 1990 (though Heatseeker from Blow up your Video is pretty OK).

With good singles releases:   Thunderstruck, Moneytalks and Are You Ready.

But that was it.  A 12 track album and they didn't bother to release the title track which IMO is a really good song with a great beat and guitar sequences.

As such, it seems no music video except for the odd live footage.

There might be better ones around but this one's pretty good, audio quality at least.

I always liked this song, its a retreatment by  Reborninoctober ,his musical treatment and video, do the original Justice.

I just my opinion, I feel that that Sigue Sigue Sputnick were seriously underated .

I'm back on the soundtrack for Season 1 of Westworld.  Still the best, tho' the following seasons have had a few new songs that were good.
