Wireless card

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I recently bought a new 50" plasma which is sitting very comfortably in my tv room, however I'd also like to play multiplayer games on it and I don't want to have cables running all over the house (router is in my office connected to my office computer ~ 20 metres and 7 walls away) . Does anyone know of a good wireless adapter for my gaming PC so I can take it into the TV room and play some lovely 50" games?

Thanks,

Zaij.

7 walls? That's pushing it a bit I would be looking at getting a cat5e or cat6 cable put through to the TV room as I doubt you would get an acceptable signal with that much obstruction to go through. Otherwise any card should do they are all pretty much the same.

If you do get a card and wireless reception is poor you could try fitting a directional antenna to the wireless card (and perhaps the router), so make sure to get a card with a detachable antenna.

Draft 802.11n kit is probably your best bet but cable will always be the most reliable.
