Forcing 60Hz on a specific resolution.

Recommended Posts

I've got a Samsung 2233SW 1920x1080 monitor... and every time I play an older game that doesn't support this res, or even widescreen, I generally attempt to run it in 1280x1024... BUT.

A box pops up in the middle of my screen saying "Not optimum mode - 1920x1080 @ 60Hz".

I did some of my own researching and found it only does this because when it's switched to 1280x1024, the Hz jumps up to 75... and it doesn't like that for some stupid reason - even though it SUPPORTS it, clearly.

So, what I'm wondering is if I am able to force 60Hz on 1280x1024 without changing my desktop resolution and Hz before playing the game in question.

I tried an FOV hack to play the game (Thief: Deadly Shadows) in 1920x1080 and it works fine, except the game decides to freeze when the YES/NO overlay comes up at the end of a mission, or going through a loading section, or trying to load a save from the menu.

I'm running Windows 7 Build 7127, and my GPU drivers are the 9.4 Catalyst 64bit.
