Well how much would a set of NVG cost by themselves? Consider it buying a set of goggles with MW2 thrown in and it might make more sense, well as much sense as giving goggles to gamers does...

I was looking at NVGs on the net yesterday, and it looks like these wont be "real" NVGs, more likely infared camera style NV....still, cool.

Infrared is pretty much 'real NVG'. The other method is light amplification, which is used in combination with IR.

If you're expecting thermal goggles, well, you might be wanting a bit much.

If people had these you could whip up some pretty cool ideas for a fan made movie :)

Yeah, my bad, I should have explained myself better.

Apparantly the visibility is good for 20 or so metres in pitch black, which isnt too bad I guess.

Or just a novel way to fetch a screwdriver from the shed after dark.

Im very curious about the level of quality/grade on the NVG.

Even the first gen military grade are around $60-$800 on ebay.

id say these are the same tech used in night vision for digital video cams.

Which would make alot more sense.

Id possibly be interested, depending on the range distance they can be effective at.

Id say theyre probibly toy grade like these:

Someone on another forum has said importing NVG's is prohibited in some states from overseas. (any truth to this?)

It was brought up after someone said we'd be even lucky gettting them if at all.

Even if we did id say they will be a limited shipment like the collectors ed was for wow frozen throne.

Really?! You really think that these promo items that are packed in with a video game MIGHT NOT BE MILITARY GRADE?! You think?! Wow. My world view is rocked.

Of course they're fucking toys.

Not confirmed for Aus as yet and by the sound of things they probably wont be. Got a feeling if you really want a pair you will be able to pick a pair up 2 weeks after launch for $20 on EBay

Looks like Belgium won't be getting the Prestige Edition, but France will be getting them.

No word on Australia yet...

I was reminding people that gen1 military grade NVG's value around $600-$800+ by comparison for the kiddies we have here on the forums.

THEN, on a different note I was then suggesting that I expect that the tech used in them is probibly vid cam NV tech.

I never implied that they were anything more than toys.

So, How long have you picking fights with brick walls?

And I was pointing out that you're running for Captain in the Obvious military.

How long have you been as thick as a brick wall?

I watched it, just to see if there was anything remotely newsworthy or interesting in it.

There wasn't.

He keeps saying custom artwork. What the hell does he even mean by that?

The NVG's look like a pretty big wank too.

Amazed people actually get excited by this shit.

I'll pass on the M4, even with the grenade launcher it's a bit maintenance heavy. AK-47 is a much more reliable assault rifle. I'd rather have one of these though thanks.

Hahaha m4 in a zombie apocalypse..... you will drop it and it wont work or you will get zombie brains in it and it wont work, as said above AK47 with 100 round drum magazine is the gun for the job with maybe a decent pistol like a colt .45 for close encounters.

Just a quick heads up.

Looks like Australia's getting it.

http://ebgames.com.au/productSearch.cfm?so...restige+edition

Not a 100% confirm, but better than nothing.

You're looking at AU$199.95 for this bad-boy.

Doesn't seem to be a PC version of this unfortunatly.

I have been keeping a close eye on the PC version and there is an entire article on IGN about the PC version and the online benefits such as cross over gaming *Think thats what its called, where you can play MW2 on your PC at a Lan perhaps and one of your mates might have it on the Xbox360 and he to can play.

Just like GTA 4 did ;)

Exactly as I predicted, but its defiantly a bad boy with a sticker that says 'Fucking buy me and try me' For the NVG's of course :P

Err $100 for something that probably costs them $30 to make and is not actually night vision but infrared? I think I will pass, I will be getting this on Steam if I can since I hate DVD's. Edited by nesquick
