Which Distro Are You Using?

Recommended Posts

Firewall box runs Gentoo - built off the 2007.1 CD, I think. It's just a no-X server install though, so I can't say anything about X support...

I don't think I need to say what distribution I run. ;-)

Given I run the same distribution on all computers, and only two major distributions support MIPS. :-)

That said, I do maintain a version of Debian/MIPS (Lenny) on one of the Lemote boxes.

I've changed again. It's back to opensolaris, the latest is actually really good. They've sorted out numerous bugs from the last time I tried.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why you should never judge a book by its cover! :-P

(Seriously, the number of times people see me looking like this and think I work on a construction site/in a mine or fight fires for a living...)

Ubuntu 8.04.1 on the desky, hoping Intrepid's less painful to dist-upgrade to than Hardy was >_< Dual booted with Vista Home Premium, of course.

8.04 WAS on the lappy, but for some reason it doesn't control my fan (which leads to overheating) and thus XP Pro SP2 is the go.

Unbuntu 8.10 X64 on the main lappy (Dell Precision M90)

eeeBuntu 8.04 on the eeePC 900

Gentoo on desktop (Athlon 64 X2)

Mixture of FreeBSD and RHES at work (Dual-Xeon Quad core systems)

Gentoo On personal server (dual opty)

Gentoo on my server (sometimes I totally regret the decision, sometimes I love it)

And Ubuntu just about everywhere else.

Hopefully I'll have UltraSPARC Debian soon.

Rob.
