Do not solder solder your cables if its not somthing you've done before. Most head phones now days have about 10 seperate strands under the shield. Which is a pain in the ass.

bit of a catch22 situation there.. if i never do it, i'll never be able to do it again..

If you do it you wont be able to RMA them eh.. If you think its worth it sure go for it.

Just RMA them, too much risk in totally destroying them.

However I just soldered my cheap Phillips stereo headphones a few days ago and they turned out fine.

RMA them.

Headphones are really hard to solder.

Not for beginners.

If they were out of warranty, I'd say yeah, give it a go.

RMA them Fredzfrog, how will the company know they have failed you if you just fix it yourself.

You paid for the warranty, and possibly the postage too.

I just rma'd a Behringer Vamp, 10 months old.

The courier picked it up Monday arvo, and the tech said they will probably just send me a new one. (we'll see about that)

Pretty cheap fx unit (multi-fx stomp-box), less than $160.

RMA it dude!

regards Glenn
