don't care like me. I don't give a fuck. most people I know (including myself) grin and bear it. No excuses, no justifications, just acceptance and moving on.

Wage slaves? You sound like you need a change of career/job/employer, or a broader education/appreciation of what you have (I'm not trying to be a dick, I just want to help clear any possible ideological "fog of war" you may be experiencing).

I've paid my taxes for my full time/part time jobs like everybody else, but I have realistic views on the state of governance and the requirement of taxes... and life in general, which is made (arguably) all the easier (i.e. freedom from physical threats; access to care; access to food/shelter; productivity etc.) by current Governments than previous human organisational constructs.

We have tangible evidence for what our taxes pay for, if you feel so strongly about the efficiency and betterment of our government services maybe you should get more involved.

1Shot, fucked if I know mate, looked like you were, its post 5 im looking at.

Can't see where I did.

ISA might be done by humans, but I think that the I part of the acronym might be stretching it, not to mention that while it might actually be carried out by humans, a lot of them don't do it.

And manta, I hope im not riding shotgun when your family member dies when you cant get them to medical help out in the neglected country where ambulances dont exist.

Not sure where tax comes into this, since the unit appears to use data to control the car rather than transmit data to fine drivers. It looks feasible, but we'll have to wait for the trial results to see for sure. Satellite triangulation isn't foolproof after all.

I dare say that in remote Australia you would find an LZ long before you were able to find a hospital, even if you're gunning it at 200/hour.

Tax isn't involved because it's mere trial of the speed retard tech. Unpaid volunteers trialing it for free no less.

So you wouldn't wanna be overtaking a truck when the bastards decided to limit you.

If you are on your way to an anti globalisation rally can they slow down your car big time?

This is bullshit.

I think the idea would be that a GPS device would establish how fast you are going, and where you are, and limit the car to the speed limit of the road. There's no reason for it to transmit anything, or even store any data. It could work in real time locally in the vehicle.

Too, how are they going to know you're going to an anti-globalisation rally? Even if they know, how do they know you're not going to throw eggs at the protesters to rile them up so the police have an excuse to thump some skulls?

the cognitive dissonance you're demonstrating Isn't doing you or those most people you know any favours.

O RLY? As opposed to constantly whinging about it on an Internet forum?

It's not noble or admirable,

Maybe not, but it's more enjoyable than harping about it and worrying about how they're going to "get me" next.

HTFU is not an intelligent or reaonable course of action in the real world.

Yeah. It actually is. When the choice is between HTFU and being a perpetually bitter broken record because The Man is always "out to get me", I'll take HTFU. No amount of money would be worth being stuck in the same mindset as Mr. D all day. You can keep your outrage, thanks.

Here's the fucking news.

Oh gee, we work, pay taxes then die, SHAREHOLDERS AND BANKS MAKE MONEY! I HAD NO FUCKING IDEA!

It's hardly insane.

Are you saying that I'm somehow wrong not to be outraged at how the world works?

It's fairly smug of you to look down your nose at me because I could care less how much money and power the banks and gubmint have...

So once, again, read my lips:

I

Don't

Care

I know how shit goes down, I know about Goldman Sachs and friends, and I couldn't give less of a shit about what obscene amount of cash they earnt during the GFC. Good for them. I honestly hope they enjoy their ivory backscratchers.

Does The Man rely on "complacent" people like me to line his coffers? Of course. Am I bothered? Fuck no. Why would I when I have everything I want.

And then they'll track your movements and slap a road user tax based on distance traveled/time of day/car type/etc..

Here's a better one - give you a speeding fine with no-one around but the satellite to dob you in.

I like both these ideas.

I can see why you guys don't but if you think about it long enough you will see that they are in fact very good ides.

Perhaps in a parallel universe where the planet's management doesn't consist of continent upon continent of various hierarchies of corruption inbred with institutionalised worship of the make believe. Back on planet Earth Pappes, government and bureaucracy (people) just can't be trusted not to abuse the tech.

It's a fairly of the fucking chain time to be alive in the context of the recorded history of the planet, as it stands though, if enough selfish and apathetic passive aggressive folks such as squalstrife successfully Don't Give A Fuck about reality, just because they're invisible in the big picture, it will be a wasted opportunity.

Fuck that shit off. Government needs to back the fuck off big time. The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

Right, because the real way to enjoy your small amount of time in existence is to be perpetually sour about "the man" and. Real cheerful existence, guy.

It's fairly condescending to say that I don't give a fuck about "reality". I give a fuck about reality. My reality is my job, my home, my family, my friends, etc. Anything outside of that, not my problem. Feel free to give a crap, but don't pretend that it somehow makes you a better person than anyone else.

Until you're willing to work your way to the top of a corporation or the government and enact the changes you want, then you're no different to this guy:

All systems are hollistic. You wouldn't even notice till you lost them.

I don't think there's a large chance of you losing them. But I think the events that might lead to such a degradation of government would have to be overseen by people such as yourself.

Small changes build momentum. You don't stop a landslide, political or otherwise, by trying to stop it, after it started.
