TPG Anygood

TPG & AAPT both have a pretty good set and forget system. Although they both suck at any after sales support or tech help.

Thinking about switching to TPG as their prices are crazy.

Worth it or not?

Any advice welcome

Yep go for it, your right their deals are good, but make sure your exchange has ADSL2+ first. It's another reason I am glad we have optus cable as our exchange at Bundamba does not have ADSL2.

Pay through the nose, you get a low quota, but you also get Tech support.

Pay a reasonable amount, get a huge quota + Non-Existent Tech Support.

Just my 2 Cents though.

I am currently on the AAPT 8000k ADSL1 20gb/unlimited plan and my girlfriend has the 120gb TPG plan. I setup and monitor both of them so have dealt with both parties. AAPT were just frustrating, the people didn't really know what to do or say.

The TPG guys seem to know whats going on but don't really care or are way overworked.

That said, I've found both offer awesome value for money. I download about 20gb a night with my AAPT connection with ease. I have been averaging anywhere from 200-500+ gig a month since the unlimited off peak came into play. I love it and couldn't even think of using someone else now even if they are a pain to talk too!

interesting info there, that off peak sounds pretty cool.

edit: just checked it, might be unlimited downloads but the cost is crazy, much rather my $50 node plan.

Yeah something like that!

I don't have access to ADSL2 and I found AAPT were also one of the only ones to offer me ADSL18000k.

I pay $140/mth which includes line rental, $50 included calls, 20gb 8am-8pm & unlimited 8pm-8am. I can download about 32gb in the offpeak per night if I wanted too. Its only $99 a month if you have ADSL2 or the standard 1500k ADSL1.

Node and TPG are only $50 a month for ADSL with massive data allowances, much better imo provided your not a download whore.

Yes but Node & TPG don't include line rental ($25) and $50 of included local and national calls. I think that evens its all up.

My parents are with node on the 50gb easy internet or something that monitors uploads and downloads and its perfect for them. Good mix of value and support.

Well, if you know what you're doing you don't need the support.

If you're going to need support, pay the extra.

If you're clever, go the cheaper.

Tell me how being clever or "knowing what I'm doing" is going to remove the 30gb of off-peak downloads that were accidentally added to my on-peak last month and capped me. Everyone will need tech support at one stage or another.

I've got a few friends connected in newy, all say the same thing, great Internet and price, crap tech support.

my friend likes TPG and thinks its fine... sis is with aapt but I've never heard about these plans before and she's never had any problems - she's not a very big user though.

Tech support is overrated esp at IINET. i tried using iinet support the other day. they wouldn't answer my question directly and gave me the run around. then i sent them an email one morning last week, I didnt get an answer until that evening. I'm definitely changing after the shit they pulled with their newer plans. I look forward to a new ISP.

I was with TPG in brisbane before moving down here and i didn't have any issues with the plan , the billing or service. That was the 25gb ADSL2 plan.

That's a lot of porn.. Just sayin..

I'm with TPG and ADSL1 is alright. The offpeak is horrible compared to say internode, (4am to 9am vs 12pm to 12am). Tech support is talking to an indian who told me to turn it off and on.. But hey that's worked for all my problems!
