Pingtest.net - How is your line quality?

Recommended Posts

Make sure you have the latest java installed for this online app to work.

You mean flash.

And ultimately I think that's a rather silly app.

Relevant, perhaps, to those on wireless links - but if you're on ADSL2/Cable chances are your ping times are fine.

I'm no expert, but I haven't seen people complain about pings for years.

Rob.

Pingtest is done by the same folks who did Speedtest so it's all good!

But it also shows your Ping

Or you could go on the website and have a look at what the software is actually grading?

What is Pingtest.net?

Use Pingtest.net to determine the quality of your broadband Internet connection. Streaming media, voice, video communications, and online gaming require more than just raw speed. Test your connection now to get your Pingtest.net rating and share the result with others!

Maybe it's just crap and maybe the restults mean nothing, but in the end it has not been posted up before. It does give you extra information regarding your internet connection and it is my constitutional right to post up things of interest on these forums. Don't like it, troll somewhre else!

Sydney to Canberra with optus cable.

I would run that test again, it should be much better than that. If not I would look into it as my ping using optus cable over a much bigger distance is better than yours.

I'll re-try the test later, our link is usually quite busy owing to the fact there are two consistent users, a web/mail server, public NTP server and other miscellaneous traffic that keeps the link busy.

Update:

The packet loss is concerning... although a couple of other attempts, it measured this to be 0%
