Heh, yeah, my paycheque is going to take a battering this month myself. I'm looking somewhere in the vicinity of $400 in this month, and that's if I'm lucky.

Hmm, I just realised a new graphics card might be useful for RA3, I'm not certain if mine'll be up to the task.

If it isn't, then I guess my wallet bleeds even more.

Only one I'm even vaguely interested in is Far Cry 2. And maybe Fallout 3, but my housemate'll get that one so I can preview it. And I'm not so interested in either that I can't wait until they go half price.

Hmm, gaming doesn't seem to interest me that much any more. Interesting.

Are you some kind of multi-dimensional being with 96 hours days? I wish I had the spare time to play even three of those games extensively.

I'll have my hands full with LBP for a long time, shortly followed by R2 (November, but only a couple weeks later). Will also be getting Far Cry 2 and Bioshock soonish. Absolutely no chance in hell I would actually have time for any more than that personally.

Don't forget that Saints Row 2 is actually shaping up to be the spiritual successor to GTA:SA... add it to your list.

I'm going to try it tonight, I hope it stands up to the GTA series.

Already on it :P

I've actually lined up my gaming great. I finish Throne of Bhaal just in time for Saints Row 2, then carry that over hopefully into Far Cry 2 territory, and from there, straight into Fallout 3 and then alternate with Red Alert 3.

It's a good month to be born in :P

Wait a sec, SR2 is out?

It's available if you're a filthy pirate.

Otherwise it comes out on the 16th. Fancy gun case here I come.

I never pirate games.

I'm going to load up the 360 version tonight. Hope it's good.

Working in the industry occasionally has advantages. Few though they may be.

ORLY?

Are you in the retail channel or elsewhere?

Because wholesalers aren't reporting any stock yet.

Damnit, I totally chose the wrong month to move out of home, how can I afford rent + the ones of the list I want:

- Red Alert 3

- Fallout 3

- Far cry 2

- BigLittlePlanet (maybe)

So I played it for like 3 hours last night. I have to say... so far... big thumbs up.

From a comparison standpoint... It feels more like GTA: San Andreas than GTA:IV did.

It's less realistic feeling. Combat is fast and furious. Driving has very little in the way of drift and physics, the cars drive more like in Burnout or something where they're just fast and loose. A bit hard to get the hang of, but after an hour or so of driving around I grew to enjoy it.

The character customization was really verbose. Tons of options.

I'm a big burly white english guy who likes to run around in a football jersey and sweat pants and primarily uses a baseball bat so far.

There's factions and rep you gain. Lots of mini games. Big open sandbox.

Graphically it's much less attractive than GTA:4, which I guess is what it should be compared to. So it's like a slightly less serious more actionly GTA:4 without all the drama. I guess where GTA:4 tried to go real life, this tried to go comic booky in action and plot.

Hope that helps people decide on if they are going to buy or not. Some people who loved GTA:4 will probably hate it. Some people who thought GTA:SA was more fun than GTA:4 will probably love it. I was one of the latter.

Fantastic. Sounds exactly like I'd expected.

I loved GTAIV, but I also missed all the crazy shit I'd accumulated by the end of GTASA

My wallet would commit suicide if it could. Taking a battering from the stock market and I've got to budget for a new PC before I can even play the new shit.
