Look, I'm really sorry you guys are cursed to dig shit films, but let's not derail this thread too much.

On topic, I just bought the Mass Effect games, will report on how much I hate them once I've given them a bash later tonight probably.

Fuck I love you man.

Universe Sandbox is $5 today. For anyone who's interested in physics, space, time, etc, it is a fantastic toy/tool and well worth your time and money. I have pumped well over 50 hours in since I got it, playing God and making shit happen. Tonnes of fun and it has the leanings.

Totally buying this. It's been on my wishlist since release, just never made time for it. Still haven't, but for 50% off I can buy and play it whenever :)

Not sure about Mafia 2 though, afaik the gameplay's ultra linear and rather short. Plus Mafioso stuff has never really interested me.

make sure you play the first one right through then import your saves over to the second and save those for the 3rd.

oh and listen/explore all conversation options don't just skip through everything because there are some parts of dialogue you have to listen to in order to understand wtf is going on.

Yeah, if you're not a fan of Mafia stories, don't bother. The only reason I played through to the end is because I love movies like Casino and Goodfellas etc.

Bought a few games this sale so far...

Back To The Future: The Game

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines

Cities XL 2011

Universe Sandbox

Haven't seen anything else worthy which I don't already own.

Also, what kind of human being doesn't like the Back To The Future trilogy?

Freak as.

If I decide I like something, I play it obsessively and pay attention to every detail.

I probably won't like it though :p

You should all be buying Jamestown right now :-)

It looks like an amazing SCHMUP, and the 4 player things is really appealing, assuming there are people to play with... sell me on it.

Well, basically it is as you say. An amazing shmup. Great (and weird) story, graphics on par with the best of the neo-geo era, brilliant music, deep gameplay, lots of bonus challenge levels that actually help you become a better player.. It's just generally awesome. Most of all, it just feels right.. It runs that fine line where every time you die you always feel like it was your own fault and that one more try might do the trick. To make a one shot kill bullet hell game where deaths never feel cheap is an incredible achievement.

Multiplayer is local only, but that's because it only had a 3-man dev team, and you can't have *any* lag in a bullet hell game.

Oh, and sorry for the late reply. It's still on sale, though. $6.69.

You will hate them. In b4 you come back crying about how you played me1 for 3 hours and it was boring as fuck just before all the good stuff happens.

I don't think they got that far, one of them was asking me how to find Anderson in the comms room.

I respect that and no longer try to tell you how awesome it is because I know it won't be awesome to you due to said dislike of scifi which no doubt extends to all things with a scifi setting like Halo and star wars ect ect.

anyway on to todays sales, I am going to grab that dead space pack for $22 since I really liked the first one (issues aside) and the second one looked pretty cool.

I can't believe that Portal 2 is already 50% off. Much coolness for those who haven't played.

Nothing really caught my eye today, though. Somewhat interested in X3, as I've never played it. Any opinions on it? Worth a go?

Bought last night even though I have the first one. $20 for two games... and the second aint even that old.

I also got just about every dlc pack for mafia 2 last night as well. All up. $8.07c. excluding the extra story games... the packs were 74c each.

Unbelievable.

i like it but its known for its steep learning curve i guess it assumes you have played all the previous x games since 1999
