GTX 465

Recommended Posts

judging by those benchmarks, I would rather get a 5850. saves more on power and is still better even if its slightly more expensive.

Unless the pricing of the GTX465 is due to it just being released (as in it will be cheaper down the track) it is a strange card. Who would buy one of these over a HD5850 given the price you pay, and heat/power usage levels?

Reminds me a little of the HD5830- would be worth considering if it was about $70 cheaper.

useless card. save longer, get better card 5850 or 470, simple.

but yeah price could drop..

That's the point though- at the moment you wouldn't need to save longer to get a HD5850 as they cost the same or less than a GTX 465.

Looks like it's possible to unlock some GTX465 cards to GTX470 specs!

Seems like you need GTX465 cards that have identical PCBs (including the full 10 memory chips) to do it, and a GTX470 BIOS. Though after unlocking you'll need to bump the core voltage back up to GTX465 stock voltage to keep it stable.

That would save you some $$$ if you got the right things.
