Unr3strict3d's First Build :)

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

I'm going to build my first ever computer built from scratch. And I plan to make it good :P

So I'm 15 and decided that my ancient Compaq laptop just can't cope with anything anymore.

So that sparked the idea of building my own. I doubted I would do it but I'm here now to tell you I am building this machine.

I've gone with this:

GA-P55A-UD3R

Intel Core I5-750

4G Kit DDR3 1600 G.Skill-Ripjaws

Asus 1Gb 5770

Thermaltake V3 Black Edition

Stock 450W Thermaltake Power Supply

Some Spare Hardrives. (120Gb boot and 160Gb storage atm)

Spare Black Optical Drive

Stock Blue LED fan + Nexus Real Silent PWM Fans

Logitech X530 5.1

Old Samsung Syncmaster 151N

Just a basic keyboard and mouse :)

Looks good I think :)

Ok Lets start off shall we :)

(I appoligise for the poor image quality. Had to use my phones camara)

Here is the Computer Case

I think it looks alright :)

Ok Next we have The Motherboard

and Here is another shot.

Here is my Computer screen and Sound system.

The Sub is under the desk and the 2 rear speakers are yet to be put on.

And here is a shot with the motherboard sitting in nicely :)

Thats all the parts i have atm. I am getting the ram soon so i will post with that. And the CPU may take a little longer.

As for the video card. I am using a friends Until i buy my one. So i don't have to wait. I'm an impatient bastard.

Grats.

Don't buy those speakers if you haven't already though, they're shit.

Ahh too late. But i dont mind. Got em for 99$ at JB Hifi as i have heaps of vouchers for them

Can easily buy a better one later one. This was just so i have some speakers :)

Please tell us this is just a list. Give me your budget and I shall rectify a few issues with it.

It is and it isnt. Some are final some are not. If you think i should buy something instead post it.

Greatly appreciated :) My budget is a low

Edit: And some of the items are just to get me started. Eg. the case. So take that into consideration.

Fair enough, for $100 you're better going with a 2.1 set imo. But then again, I did use X530s for about 3 years before I replaced them, so they can't be all bad.

Where will you be getting the rest of your gear from.

I'd probably recommend the MSI 5770 Hawk over the ASUS.

Yeah, I'm currently getting my stuff from MSY. As their pretty cheap.

And the graphics card is open to anything. I want a ATI 5770 but dont really now which one.

And i would like to keep getting the parts from MSY if i can as there cheaper then Umart and PCCG.

I'll look into the MSI Hawk,

Cheers mate

Shit 15, Well I can remember when I built my 1st PC at that age. It was a monster for the time but it was fast and it still works to this day.

Make sure you keep the build log updated buddy. If you were in Brisbane I'd give you a 20" acer screen for free :)

well make sure you buy a decent PSU, shits me to tears when people build systems with generic crap ones and 3 months later their system is dead.

these are awsome for $100 i got mine a year ago and they are really good for a 5.1 system they do the job with blu ray on the PS3, DVD's, gaming and music, especialy if you use the logitech drivers for windows 7 or vista cause you can split the 2.1 channel into 5.1 and make your music epic, it really does.

I'm currently hunting for parts and found a pretty cheap store. Check it out -

http://www.iibuy.com.au/

Some prices are cheaper than MSY. I'm gonna need to get the parts shipped to me, but most of the things that I want, they have - So I'm able to get pretty much everything just from this one store.

Thought i better update this.

This coming week, I will be getting the CPU and Fans :D

My mate gave me his Galaxy Nvidia 8400 GS, so I can have the system running and buy a decent graphics card later on.

So once I get the CPU I only need the ram, and I'm up and running :D

Will Post pics of the CPU when i get it :)

Cheers
