How can I tell if a Nexus one is real?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking at buying an android for a while now, and I came across a listing on ebay that was suprisingly cheap:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/N1-nexus-WiFi-dual-...U_Mobile_Phones

I was looking at the photos of the back panel and the front four touch buttons when I realised it didn't look the same to some other reference pics:

http://www.eurodroid.com/pics/nexus_one_en...g_service_1.jpg

http://www.digitaltrends.com/wp-content/up...e-nexus-one.jpg

It got me wondering, which I simplified down to two points:

1.) Is the phone being sold (for a suspiciously cheap price) the real thing?

2.) How can I tell between the ones that are real and the ones that aren't?

By looking at his feedback score and also the listing, it looks legit.

I would trust them.

If you have a problem with the item pay by a method which can be easily refunded (paypal and or credit card) which should allow you to bid without hesitation.

That's not a Nexus One, and (in a cheeky way) it's not claiming to be: it's a N1 nexus, whatever Chinese knockoff that is. One simple example of how you can tell is the lack of google or htc branding.

And there you go. So really the item is just as it has been described.

Always read the description and title carefully when buying off eBay.

there is no way that phone is real. 100% fake for sure. No doubt, it'll be a piece of crap phone with shitty hardware.

definately a chinese clone, On the plus it is a quad band but it doesnt actually state anywhere that it is running an android operating system. It also does not give any hardware specs.

Comparing the pictures on that page compared to a real Nexus One. That is NOT a Google Nexus One.

It's $160. A real Nexus One goes for at least $500 even second hand. There are also at least 7 clues in the first line: N1 nexus WiFi QUAD BAND TV Dual sim JAVA Mobile phone 2GB

If you fall for that, you're a twit.
