superhamster 0 Posted September 27, 2010 I was wondering, does the uncore frequency on an i7 really have to be 2x the memory speed? It seems to be accepted as common knowledge on pretty much all websites to do with i7 OC, but they never give the reason. What would happen if I did clock it less than 2x my memory speed? I am a bit noob at overclocking, but I seem to have been getting reasonable results so far, but my uncore is holding me back and I am a bit wary of increasing the volts. Morgoth 15 Posted September 28, 2010 I'm not looking forward to the added complexity of Nehalem overclocking :/ I'd rather tweak the 50 billion memory drive strengths on my old DFI Ultra UT or whatever it was.
